Feb 17th 2012 9:31AM the stuff i'm doing now -
- achievements incl pvp and rbg (that doesn't work well atm because every halfway decent team requires some rating which i don't have ^^)
- farm mounts
- do event dailies
- playing the AH
this keeps me busy enough, as i've reallife stuff to look after too, and we're still only at 7/8 heroic. i enjoy this sort of "empty" time, as it is pleasant, quiet, and i don't feel like i had to log in every day to finish that daily hub or farm certain gear asap. :)
Dec 15th 2011 4:50PM Maybe it is worth mentionning that the Vial of Shadows is very awesome for BM hunters with their 30% extra AP. I believe that it is very desireable for us despite the dodge buff, because the alternative (Starcatcher Comapass) doesn't offer such a great proc for BM. Of course it's sweet, but heck, haste hardly changes anything for us like it does for MMs where it's significant.
I for one will go for the Vial no matter what (and make tickets every ID to report the dodge bug if necessary) and leave the Compass to our MM
Jun 10th 2011 4:51AM of course we can switch pets in fights. i do this regularly on specific fights.
Jun 10th 2011 4:27AM oh i totally forgot to mention my super-great idea for a new AE-centered talent:
"insert a name here": your pet quickly charges around at enemies in proximity, hitting for x and leaving an effect; nice effects that come to my mind: bleeds, damage% debuff, short stun (like less than 1 sec), slow. maybe they could be chosen randomly, or what i'd like best would be a combination of the bleed plus randomly any of the three others.
think aurayia's cat (ulduar) to get the idea about an effect.
and and on a general note, i'd like to see more cleaveish behavior on BMs in general. after all, you've got a pet that thrashes around in the melee, and a hunter that isn't quite speciallized in hitting stuff with precision; instead, they just shoot very fast at whatever is in front of them, which is why some sort of cleaves would make sense.
-for the pet: any sort of cleave we already know from other classes, or hits that leave debuffs or bleed at multiple targets to make it more interesting.
-for the hunter: reintroduce rumba, the talent which would occasionally shoot snakes at the target, but instead of being the same target, make them hit different targets (like a mini-multi). auto or arcane shot should work as triggers.
for both talents, there should be a way to switch them off obviousely, or things could get nasty when cc is around.
one could even go a step further and make more differences between ferocity and cunning pets: ferocity would be the cleaving specialist, cunning for single target. but this would need some tweaking on the buffing level, as we still need some reasonable choices there.
Jun 10th 2011 4:15AM i think intimidation is fine as it is (you could ask for an interrupt element for boss fights, which would make a lot of sense); i like that situational stun on a relatively short cooldown. your idea is great, this could be a new talent of some sort yes i'd like to see something like that.
and i think it's about time that scatter shot doesn't break on damage anymore, and that our ice trap didn't break on our dots (read: our own dots!) either.
Jun 10th 2011 4:08AM epic, yes, but i'd feel more like a crittermaster then... :P
Jun 10th 2011 4:03AM it would still be somewhat useful on bosses. i wouldn't want to be a main interrupter (thats the rogues and shamans role :P) but being able to interrupt as a backup would be great.
Jun 10th 2011 4:01AM your two last ideas are cool, i didn't understand the first one however (i'm not native so...).
2: maybe just reduce the min range to 0y during BW, or give us back at least snare immunity during bw.
3: yeah i liked the concept of that talent too. but i wouldn't ask for a los/range dependent damage buff as this would cause us to do weird stuff in raids. the runspeed thing is cool, maybe add a proc of some sort that helps us indirectly, but not with damage.
Jun 10th 2011 3:57AM use a sporebat. anything else is dmg loss
Jun 10th 2011 3:54AM SV as a tanking spec is a cool idea, but i'd like it more on BM. BM could be both, damage and tank, as much as ferals can be cats or bears. you should however need to respec in order to be fully functional, just like a cat has to respec to be a viable bear. obviousely, you'd need a tanking pet to be tanking bosses, but you could use any other pet too with less benefit (like a chimera for better AE tanking, but worse survivability and single target aggro). the hunter's role would be all about keeping the pet alive and directing aggro to it.
i see SV's role more in a support position with cures, damage reduction and such to me, along with damage of course. and self heals, oh this is just ridiculous, a "survival" spec without self heal (rant). this could help 10 mans, where you've (normally) only got 2-3 healer classes and sometimes don't have all dispels. it also would help pvp a lot obviousely. but now i'm derailing this thread...
as of your response to my post (flying pets carrying us around), i think you got a great point there, which could apply to ground pets too. i'd be already very happy with flying pets that actually can fly; you could add tons of features to them sure.
