Apr 4th 2012 10:25AM @Shrike, wow you need to lighten up.
If you have legendary weapons and the ability to go out and blow people to tiny bits in PVP, then I say go enjoy and have some fun. I certainly know that I enjoyed the crap out of my heirloomed rogue in pvp at lower levels. If you got the drop on someone, it was pretty much good night Irene. No one's talking about mercilessly corpse camping some poor soul here, just having some good old fashioned fun with your bright shiny little Old-God themed legendaries. Yum.
Mar 28th 2012 4:43PM How exactly was Cata miserable for casuals? Let's see:
1. Raid Finder implemented
A. not only can you look like a raider, but you actually see all the content
2. Heroics are back to 20-minute roflstomp adventures
3. gearing up to ilvl 397 is time consuming, but relatively painless if you are dedicated
And I have a question for your statement. You mention that a lot of folks don't have the time to raid but would like to be raid ready if they get the chance now and again. So from time to time you DO have the opportunity to run LFR. OK, so go run it. It's not going anywhere from the look of things. I can't imagine they'll keep the LFR but make hitting the gear threshold so arduous that it will take months to get there.
Cmon, if you're going to bash on something at least provide some decent arguments.
Mar 27th 2012 4:51PM @DarkWalker - um.... bye? Can I have your cookies?
Mar 27th 2012 4:43PM @zack, better example for you...
Say this new system had been implemented in LFR for Dragon Soul. If you've killed Death Wing for 3 months straight as a tank, then the chances are strongly in your favor that at least one of those times you would have "won" the roll with the system to be a player who receives loot. As Death Wing only drops weapons, it stands to reason that you'd get the weapon you want.
Anyway, let's give this system a chance before we all start bashing it as one of the signs of the coming apocalypse you seem to regard it as. I'm sure there will be some tweaks along the way, but seeing as you're currently playing, looks like Blizzard built a pretty good game so far.
Mar 27th 2012 4:26PM @zack, you seem awful worked up about this. It's not really taking away your choice, it's taking away your choice to be an anonymous jerk. Three months in and you haven't won a weapon? Gee, I wonder why... It couldn't possibly be because 98.2% of the folks who CAN need on the weapon you want do so. Not because they actually need it, but because they want to use it as collateral to trade for the tier piece that some other guy won two bosses ago.
That is the choice it's taking away. No longer will you lose Soul Drinker to the DK who's already dual wielding them because he rolled need so he could give them to his buddy who wants one.
Heck, one time I had a guy who was eagerly trying to trade out a piece of loot. I asked if he didn't get any takers if I could have it. He asked me what I had to trade and I told him "nothing". So he kept it and vendored it because the 10g he got vendoring was his best option for a piece of loot he couldn't use as an upgrade.
Those are the types of things that this system combats. You want to rant? Go rant at the sea of faceless players out there who couldn't play nice in LFR. It caused a lot of grief and this is Blizzards answer to that. I think they've done a pretty good job myself.
Mar 27th 2012 2:21PM The mascara-tainted tears of all the warlocks on here are like candy to me, and I'm not even a mage.
People, stop assuming that Blizzard saying "we'd like to do x or y" means that it's coming with the next patch cycle.
Disregarding my first sentence, between this news and the clarification about the glyph and it's been a bad day for Locks. You all have my sympathy cause your class has received a collective punch to the gut in the last 12 hours.
Mar 27th 2012 8:59AM Well, the fact that it's the first couple weeks of the open invites to beta make it a fairly good chance that the finished product in LIVE will look vast different from what is up there now in Beta.
I'm cool with people getting exited about Mists, I know that I am, but remember to hold yourselves in check folks.
I mean, did the druids out there really think that Mangle was going to continue to do 3000% damage or that some of the ported tunes who had 10x their base stats were going to be the same? Of course not. Am I making a really big leap in connecting those obvious bugs to this glyph? YES. The whole point is, it's beta. Take everything you see and experience with a grain of salt the size
Mar 21st 2012 8:54AM Other woman,
I'm very sorry that you find yourself in this situation. It stinks, and it's likely to get harder before it gets better. Overall, in total agreement with everyone else on here urging you to cut all ties with not only this guy, but the on-again-off-again fellow you've been with as well. Neither is any good for you really.
But be prepared. When you try to cut ties with the fiance here, he's going to make it very hard for you. Yes, it's most likely that he's not evil, just selfish and oblivious to why he's really reaching out to you (hint, he's missing something in his current relationship). But whatever the reasoning, he's going to try to hold on to you. He'll promise you he'll leave her for real (screenshot or it didn't happen), he'll beg and plead, etc... As I said, he's getting something from you emotionally that isn't there in his relationship, and he's not going to want to let that go.
So you need to be the better person. Because you are. Because you deserve more than to be his emotional life preserver when things aren't all rosey on the home front. Because you deserve a man who realizes when he starts to feel like he's not getting all he needs from a relationship that he talks about it and work it out, not one who goes off in search of another woman to provide it.
Good luck OW!

Mar 9th 2012 11:17AM Odd QfTQ - Is there a spanish or portuguese version of either WoW Insider, Elitist Jerks, or some similar resource? The reason I ask is I'm constatntly amazed at the level of play from folks who seem to originate from South American servers. I'm completely understanding of the language barrier and the issues that can arise there, but I've certainly run across my fair share who appear to have no clue what they are doing.
-The warlock doing nothing but wand attacking all mobs while his pet sits idle at his side
-The retadin who apparently only knows the key for divine storm
-The 85 enhancement shaman rolling with a single one-hand weapon, and it's a spellpower weapon
And wouldn't you know it, these guys are always from Nemesis, or Ragnaros or Tol Barad. It would just be nice if I could link a resource where they could go and learn that there is no use for strength gear on a druid, EVER.
