Ready Check: The loss of itemization in Cataclysm {WoW}
Feb 18th 2012 11:37AM The issue is that alternative gearing options (crafting, badges/points, trash/auction house drops) were originally designed to allow players to play the way they wanted to. Now, they've all been merged- you HAVE to do all of them to be a competitive raider, just a different one for each slot, which takes away all choice.
Survey reveals player wealth disparity {WoW}
Nov 11th 2011 10:32PM The only downside to this would be that then the wow economy would become dominated by jerks that don't care about X cause ;(
Blue posts and other WoW news: Ghostcrawler clarification, unloved specs, warlocks, and layoff rumors {WoW}
Nov 9th 2011 10:27PM My arcane mage did roughly twice as much dps at 83 than at 85, for what it's worth.
Also, as a raging altaholic, I can absolutely say that some classes/specs are severely underpowered at certain gear levels. Stuff is really only ever balanced for the current tier, and that awkward phase before/during normal heroics or a tier behind is generally neglected... my undergeared warrior cries every time he looks at the dps meters.
Know Your Lore: The Story of Us -- Quests in WoW, part 3 {WoW}
Oct 19th 2011 11:32PM You skipped all of the bad parts, which really isn't fair or objective.
The lich king popped up so many times and so ineffectually that he felt like a Saturday morning cartoon villain. The results of the ICC lich king fight came completely out of left field and made no sense. There were pockets of interesting storylines, and overall it was much greater than vanilla and outland, but it was sill jus a set of tasks meant to delay you for 6-7 hours and paled in comparison of what was to come in cata.
I'm of the opinion that the new 1-60 experience is the best part of wow- significantly better than 80-85, even.
