The Queue: Shoulder on {WoW}

Dec 23rd 2011 1:09PM I'm amazed no one mentioned the fallout games, one of my favorite game series of all time. Well not space scifi they are still scifi. They're set in a post apocalyptic nuclear wasteland of North America that is a lot like the wild west meets mad max. All the tech and science is based on the 1950s vision and understanding of the future including awesome big band and 50s crooner music.

The 2 newest ones, fallout 3 and new vegas, even use the same engine as the elder scrolls oblivion with a greatly improved leveling system. You can get fallout 3 game of the year for a bout $20 with all its dlc and new vegas (the much better of the two) without any dlc for $9 on steam.

All the World's a Stage: Plot points for Argent Crusaders {WoW}

Oct 17th 2011 6:11AM I'm not an RPer but I do have a back story for my Paladin. He was still a young squire living in Lordaeron when the events of the 3rd war happened. Because he was barely old enough to go into battle he was assigned to escort refugees out of the area to Stormwind. He and his master ended up staying there to finish his training and to this day he does not believe that the silverhand ever fell, he and many other knights are still around.

He considered his membership in the Argent Dawn a given during classic because hey they were his brothers and sisters under a different name. Some where now simply of another race, but the light welcomes all he believes. He even held out hope of the scarlets seeing the truth and returning to the righteous path till the last moments.

He embraced the Argent Crusades more active role in northrend and put his full weight behind them. But now that the war is over he wonders why the crusade is not helping fight deathwing or fix the world. The orginal mission was to protect Azeroth not just from the undead but from all threats. Sitting in a fortess well a dragon fueled by chaos and evil is tearing the world apart is not doing that.

So now he considers him self more of a knight errent much like classic and bc saw him as. He is a memeber of the order but hes doing his own mission for the light.

Why Microsoft is 'the MMO graveyard' {Massively}

Even then I remember hearing things about MS twisting SE's arm and trying to make all kinds of demands.

Why Microsoft is 'the MMO graveyard' {Massively}

Sep 21st 2011 4:18PM @Baby Choo Choo

FFXI actually had half a million subs at one point and most of them were on the PS2, hell that's how I played. This was before WoW came along and made a half million subs nothing but back then it was a huge deal.

Why Microsoft is 'the MMO graveyard' {Massively}

Sep 21st 2011 4:15PM Final fantasy XI seemed to do alright when it was ported to the 360. Then again it was a 4 year old game at this point and square seems rather leery of doing MMO business with them again.

BioWare developer wants to augment your virtual diversity (still) {Joystiq}

The whole blond hair blue eyes thing kind of throws me off. I will go look into it though, probably a good idea since I'm finishing my undergrad and starting graduate school there next spring.

The weird part is most Japanese games also have white male protagonists as well.
