Feb 24th 2012 3:42PM Battletags.
If, in the future, they can be implemented in a way such that the current tier of raiding can be cleared in normal and heroic modes, there is your solution.
No longer would those that prefer 25M raiding be tied to finding people to fit their schedules on their servers, they could search far and wide for those like-minded (and like-scheduled) folks. There is already a growing community that do similar things in RF, so I don't see why it can't work with Battletags as well.
Will this require more work on the community's part? Hell yeah it will. Will this address some of the other issues brought up in regards to loot, etc.? No, it won't, but it's a start.
(And for anybody that says "What about server first or world first raid clears?!" well, I don't have the solution to that, either. Perhaps Blizz needs to do away with them anyway).
Feb 17th 2012 7:26PM I agree with you a thousand times over Tyler that Blizzard's refusal to talk or engage in any meaningful dialogue about many of these issues absolutely baffles my mind.
It seems like virtually every armor class/spec at some point in this xpac has had legitimate, well-thought out responses in the official forums to glaring problems in each tier's boss loot tables that has been swept under the rug or given mind-twisting barely-there answers. (For me, it was the abundance of FL int-plate versus lack of spirit cloth drops).
Much like Ghostcrawler has done with the "This is why we're making these nerfs and buffs to each class" cheat sheet before the last couple of major content patches, I would love to have an insight as to what loot winds up on the loot tables at then expense of others (afterall, I do understand that each raid tier--no matter how big or small--will only have so much room to put loot).
Feb 11th 2012 12:37PM Secretly, I believe WoW Insider's promised "comment system" upgrade is really a secret bet with Blizzard on which company can best abuse the word "soon."
Jan 3rd 2012 9:55PM As a shadow priest, my question since the Monk healer "do damage to activate/trigger a heal" is...haven't we all been here before? It seemed that with the great VE nerf back in the day now, it seems somehow a little unsettling for Blizzard to want to play with this model again.
And as mentioned above, and in a previous Ready Check column, could this lead to raid stacking for just that extra DPS to make sure a boss goes down? I know this doesn't affect me as I don't raid on that level, but surely Blizzard has thought about this possibility, right?
Jan 2nd 2012 6:25PM But Dawn, wasn't the talk on the official forums a month or so ago that the devs *are* indeed looking at some major changes to healing...again...in MoP? I'm talking about the idea they are throwing around of having the mana bar go static and int would increase the power of the heals (spirit supposedly would be--as it was promised--the major regen stat).
What are your thoughts on this? I have to say that even though I'm OS heals, the idea of a major overhaul again might have me reroll a pure dps class. (Though I agree with you that the current model did not live up to the hype, either).
Dec 30th 2011 11:53PM Personally, I want to see Blizzard turn VP into BoA points. I don't see how it hurts anyone if I want to heal or tank a PuG to avoid wait times (thereby helping wait times for all involved) so that I can gear up a pure DPS alt (or main, for that matter) who has no choice but to wait.
I realize this falls into Blizzard's "We will never, ever do that!" category as they've mentioned several times now. However, with examples too numerous now to mention, they can change their tune anytime they think it's for the betterment of the game.
Dec 13th 2011 7:19PM "For instance, mages rolling on spirit cloth...."
Wow, thanks for throwing healing priests (and I suppose to a certain extent, spriests) a bone Blizz.
I look forward to your continued awesome itemization for raid cloth drops in the future, after the bang up job you did in FL and DS.
Nov 2nd 2011 5:32PM I've always been a fan of people who can get a name to work into the title they choose to display. I ran into a player in a BG named Parts who had the PvP title "Private." Definitely made me chuckle out loud.
Oct 14th 2011 5:00PM Really? Blizzard anticipated a backlash at mogging? If that truly was the case, the development team is severely out of touch with reality. The reason there was no backlash was because the vast majority of players will do just about ANYTHING to stand out from the crowd. Being able to customize your character--whether through its looks or through gear--is something that should have been done a long time ago.
Sep 29th 2011 10:22PM I couldn't quite tell from the post, but I'm assuming joining as a party or group means that the Real ID system is compatible with LFR just as it is with five mans? Am I right in that assumption?
