Breakfast Topic: Which race has the best starting zone? {WoW}
Feb 27th 2012 10:46AM I gotta say, they did a great job with the gnome starting zone. It's definitely one of my favorites.
Honestly though, outside of Goblin and Worgen, i just spam kill the yellow mobs around the starting area till i hit 4 or 5 then go to whatever zone I want to continue. That's how I did my Nelf rogue last October.

Feb 24th 2012 11:08AM This brings forth an idea. How about having every class columnist do the Ironman challenge of their respected class/spec and the first to 85 gets some sort of prize? It'd make for great entertainment to the WoW Insider readers.

Jan 24th 2012 11:37AM Again bah at the comment system. My prior post was intended as a followup to Drakkenfyre and my discussion.

Jan 24th 2012 11:35AM I do agree, that saying it's completely unrealistic is a bit too far, especially given that in the end, we're talking about a fantasy game where suspension of disbelief is a key quality to enjoyment.
Also I was trying to concur with your statement on dimorphism, I was just half asleep and worded it badly.
I guess my only "beef" is that I have to be bulky as a Draenei male or lithe as an elf as a Draenei female. I think this'd be a great example of how races with varying builds could enhance the game.

Jan 24th 2012 12:31AM That's a very valid point for the animals you list, however mammals tend to have significantly lower levels of sexual dimorphism, especially physically.
While the Draenei are a fictional race, it is pretty safe to say they are likely intended to be of mammalian origin. That's where I draw my opinion from at least.

Jan 23rd 2012 8:35PM While I find the human models annoying, I tolerate them pretty well. I do think men could be made a bit leaner.
Draenei women either need to be bulkier or Draenei men leaner. The dimorphism is really shaking, to the point that I really don't like seeing them side by side. Also, I think the women's tails would look more suitable with a bit more length, right now they look like little dangles.
Undead is a race I would totally get into if we could cover the bones in skin/armor. I just have a hard time playing a race with their shoulders and spine sticking out of their skin (yuck).
I really can not stand Night elf male animations nor their muscle structure. Bulky + lithe together just seems, ick.
I do like the troll models though I think that the females could do with a bit more slouch like the men.
Breakfast Topic: Is that you? {WoW}
Jan 14th 2012 8:35AM Since I began, WoW has been a vessel for me to explore characters from my original works in more of a real time environment. It really has helped me with my sense of immersion as well as learning things about my characters I hadn't yet realized. My first WoW character ever (and, unsurprisingly my main, a female human warrior) is based on my favorite character I've created.
In October I made a rogue based on a character I made that's very special to me. Knowing that I wasn't just leveling a female night elf rogue, but I was leveling her in particular, made the journey much more enjoyable.
