Breakfast Topic: What was your favorite WoW moment of 2011? {WoW}

Dec 31st 2011 10:48AM Probably our (realm) first Nefarian 10H kill back in May, felt elevated for days after that =D

Totem Talk: How to heal Yor'sahj in the Siege of Wyrmrest {WoW}

Dec 22nd 2011 12:51AM Earth shield - no stacks
Unsure about unleash elements
Spirit link - no stacks, which is actually a life(tank)saver during yellow/black/purple and similar combos in heroic.

Totem Talk: How to heal Yor'sahj in the Siege of Wyrmrest {WoW}

Dec 20th 2011 11:46PM Agreed, at least he could have said how Shaman spells worked with Deep corruption. Thats basically the only class-specific information that is relevant on this boss.

Like, Rain grants everyone inside 1 stack per first tick, leaving and re-entering grants additional stack.

Chain Heal grants 1 stack for each player hit

Healing stream gives no stacks.

Etc.

Breakfast Topic: What's your favorite 5-man instance of all time? {WoW}

Dec 11th 2011 10:19AM 3.3 heroics, but Halls of Reflection was the best.

It was very good design, full of lore and could actually wipe your group if not handled correctly.

I was so glad when I got 3.3 heroics in Random because I had to heal and pay attention to what I was doing.

Spiritual Guidance: Minor glyphs for discipline and holy priests, plus some pre-BlizzCon silliness {WoW}

Oct 17th 2011 10:36PM I may help you with this (I've done heroic 10man 6/7 pre-nerf).

I only used non-A/AA spec on Baleroc, the rest was done either with A/AA or Holy. A quick rundown:

Shannox: any spec works with no real benefit of AA;
Bethtilac: I was sent up and the 15% boost from AA helped keep people alive there as well as during acid rain she does after Devastation. AA is also great boost on p2, especially combined with Power infusion/BL;
Alysrazor: AA is at its best. It helps tanks with dps on the birds and the 15% boost to healing in the AoE phase is perfect;
Ryolith: I was holy on this one, but AA can utilize increased dmg taken by the Spark to heal the tank and help with DPS. 15% boost for p2 should also be considerable;
Baleroc: no AA here unless its long on farm. Shield the tank prior to each hit of Decimation blade is huge and absorbs about 1/3 of it. Also, very high single-target hps with Shield->Flash x3->repeat for crystal soakers. Should be noted that Atonement does get increased heals when it hits the tank but since you can't be sure its going to hit the tank its not very reliable;
Staghelm: We did the "normal" method of pushing Scorp as high as possible and 7 leaps on every cat. Just like on Beth p2, AA is very good here and Barrier is just OP, especially with glyph. Also its not a good idea to keep a disc outside of the scythe as the PWS doesn't benefit from Concentration, so better leave it to Druid or Shaman (2 healing it). During cat Atonement and Penance pretty much keep the tank up and help DPS.
Ragnaros: We are still progressing on him (reaching p4), but its a holy fight for sure so no help from me =)

Hope it made sense as its not my native language.

Spiritual Guidance: Holy priest stat weights revisited {WoW}

Oct 10th 2011 11:08PM Yes, haste does offer more hps than mastery, but have fun being oom for last half of the fight.

The general rule of the thumb is haste till 12.5% raid buffed, then mastery, unless you are doing sinestra, which is pure haste.

Addon Spotlight: Raiding essentials for healers {WoW}

Oct 7th 2011 4:45AM Grid and mouseovers. Get Powerauras if you want to see specific buff/proc/debuff/cd etc more clearly.

Breakfast Topic: Why do you raid? {WoW}

Sep 7th 2011 11:45AM I enjoy the gameplay and the dynamics of heroic raiding. Progression is great, but this way I don't get bored during farm as long as the content stays rather challenging.

Story, gear, etc is just a bonus.

Spiritual Guidance: More priest's notes for healing The Firelands {WoW}

Aug 25th 2011 4:00AM We haven't yet reached him on Hc yet (5/7 for now), but judging by the fact that 25 HC world first was done with 3 healers (Paladin, Druid and Holy priest) I would say yes its better than disc.

However, in 10 man where you take one healer out, priests (of any spec) can't compete with druids for the spot, so its a rather pointless discussion ^_^

So if you want the best setup possible (and otherwise you won't kill him, really, just look at the # of guilds are at 6/7 and at 7/7 -_-), you would go with a paladin and a druid.

Spiritual Guidance: More priest's notes for healing The Firelands {WoW}

Aug 23rd 2011 10:15AM Absorbs do little to counter traps, as does Barrier. Have you tried 2-heal this fight? I wouldn't say the raid is topped off most of the time in P1.

Also there's the issue of AA/A not working on Rag's huge hitbox.

I'm not saying it can't be done as disc, especially on normal, but holy is better suited for the fight in question, even the world's top priest (Jhazrun from Paragon) admits it though he has historically preferred disc.
