Aug 23rd 2011 12:00PM reading this question and the different possible pronunciations has lodged a moment from a jeff dunham skit with peanut... now i can't stop hearing "jeff-fa-fa. dun-HAM." over and over in my brain. thanks, professor ;)
Aug 16th 2011 11:21AM this happens to me quite often on my hunter since i always have "track hidden" up. i don't use any macro for this kind of scenario, just hit tab as quickly as possible. sometimes i get 'em, sometimes i miss.
Aug 11th 2011 12:49PM i've always pronounced it "shah-muh'n" but have heard plenty of people use "shay-min" too..
in fact, if i'm not mistaken, didn't ragnaros call thrall "little shay-min" in the firelands trailer?
so i'd say both are acceptable.
Aug 4th 2011 1:01PM did anyone else notice how similar that is to aquilae's "part of your guild"?
not that it isn't well done of course, he has a wonderful voice. just deja vu..
Aug 3rd 2011 12:20PM our little guild on lothar is much like amandakp has described as well - nice group of casual adults. some of us are experienced raiders, some have never set foot in one, but there is definitely a desire to get our numbers up so we could run on at least a semi-regular basis.
honestly, though, if you're unsure i would suggest trying the guild finder. its pretty helpful, and by laying out all their basic info, it affords you the opportunity to research guilds you may be interested in and find out if they're the kind of relaxed group you're looking for.
Jul 29th 2011 4:35PM lirriel, i'm inclined to agree with snuzzle.. i don't let the "dudes" or "bros" get to me, just let it roll of your back. i merely brought it up before as a chuckle, which is usually how i'll deal with it. i'll whisper another guildie who knows i'm a chick and say something like, "heheheehe, dude thinks i'm a BRO!" and that's about all the thought i give it.
there's nothing wrong with being bothered by rape jokes or any other kind of inappropriate language. i'm going to "me too" with snuzzle's take again and say that if people in your guild are saying things like this then either ask them to stop or find a new group to run with. you shouldn't have to listen to it, and if they're your friends they'll respect that. if they think you're trying to get attention you don't need 'em in the first place.
Jul 29th 2011 2:26PM outis, women in WoW may not be as scarce as you assume.
i am a chick and know plenty of chicks in RL who also play. one girlfriend actually plays male characters so she doesn’t get hit on.
i take particular amusement in the fact that most of the guys in my guild often assume i, too, am a guy, calling me "bro" and "dude" all the time. does this mean i play well or something? perhaps i should take it as a compliment?
Jul 29th 2011 11:54AM i did notice this.
i've also noticed a problem in sethria's roost.. i'll mount up and take flight, only to randomly dismount in midair and fall back to the ground. happens to me just about every time i go out there. anyone else have this happen to them?
Jul 29th 2011 9:34AM "And Baby Spice, bane of mailbox mammoths."

"Wind-Up Train Wrecker, defender of auction house sanity."
i will admit that there have been a few times i've been SUPER bored, and have sneakily put down a toy train in the AH, only to leap up next to the podiums and "save the day" by placing a wind-up train wrecker. /grins sheepishly
