Breakfast Topic: What's your favorite pet? {WoW}

Apr 4th 2012 8:18AM This may sound weird but: the Enchanted Lantern! I tend to get out a pet amd then feel annoyed after a few minutes and dismiss it again. But not the lantern for some reason - I've had it out for days at a time. It's nice and unobtrusive and, well, pretty, and it makes me a happy troll :-)

Breakfast Topic: Do you like PvP? {WoW}

Apr 4th 2012 3:16AM No. 1: What's wrong with being a Ghandi-type pacifist? That's exactly what I am irl, btw.

Not that it matters for the case in point, but I thought it was worth mentioning, lol.

The point is that when you're a beginner in PvE, you get confronted with much less challenging tasks - mobs that are yellow instead of red in the starter areas, easier quests, fewer abilities - and you pick up skills as you go. I find that fun and rewarding. In PvP, you die, you die, and you die again - within two seconds, no less - while getting yelled at by rude 12-year-olds. As I said, this is not my idea of a good time.

The fact that you don't agree with me doesn't make my personal reasons for disliking PvP "silly".

Apr 3rd 2012 8:36AM I suck at PvP, plain and simple. I forget to use my defensive or cc abilities, or I panic and use them too early. My keybinds are all close to the movement keys because I'd just get lost on my keyboard otherwise, and so the whole run-in-a-circle-while-killing-someone thing is a mystery to me. PvP makes me feel utterly stupid, and that's not what I'm going for when I log on!

Breakfast Topic: How would you redesign the old character models? {WoW}

Mar 29th 2012 8:25AM Like you I hope that won't happen but I also think our chances are good. Belfs are supposed to look "emaciated" because they are basically junkies (funny how in today's world with our twisted image of women's bodies, a lot of people find female belfs "pretty". Makes me shudder. Anorexia, anyone?). Nelfs aren't, and so there's no reason to make them this thin.

Mar 29th 2012 8:09AM I'd like more details added to the face as well. Not a fundamental change - my Rev is a pretty troll, thank you very much - so much as a face that looks like it belongs to a live person, with changing expressions and all that.

I'd also like more options for male trolls. They look like caricatures of themselves, they are *that* bent over and their faces are ridiculous. Noses almost touch chins and tusks are so impossibly huge that the poor guys couldn't possibly eat, let alone kiss.

I'd like actual hairstyle choices for Tauren males too.

But mostly it's the addition of details I'm after. If they manage that, I'll love them for it.

Mar 29th 2012 3:15AM Yes, the pet is a turtle. I took a screenshot:

Mar 28th 2012 11:11AM I rolled a pandaren hunter first, not a monk, and yes it's the exact same thing - except that the first quest is to pick up a crossbow and equip it from the weapons rack below. Everything else is exactly the same.

Breakfast Topic: Has your opinion about the pandaren changed? {WoW}

Mar 27th 2012 3:58AM Here's another point. Even if the Pandaren *had* been only, ever, a joke race, isn't that how it sometimes feels until a new place is discovered and things are proven to be real? Pandaria was this mythical continent that for all intents and purposes, didn't exist. A bit like we here on earth have jokes about "little green men" from Mars. I don't think however that this will lead to us not taking aliens seriously if and when we do get to meet a race from a different planet.

And that's what happens in Azeroth: there were whispers, legends, of a continent with panda-like people, some people had actually met one (Chen), others were reluctant to even believe that story. People tend to joke about that which they find hard to believe. But when the mists lift and suddenly there's proof, why should they (and in extension, we as the players) still think of the Pandaren as a joke?

Breakfast Topic: Has your opinion about the pandaren changed? {WoW}

Mar 26th 2012 8:26AM Way to go for giving an answer that doesn't match the question at all...

Breakfast Topic: Has your opinion about the pandaren changed? {WoW}

Mar 26th 2012 8:21AM This!

I was one of those who unanimously cheered when the Pandaren were announced at BlizzCon (admittedly, in front of my computer at home) and I have been looking forward to seeing them in action since. And yet, actually playing a pandaren in the Beta now blows me away even more than I expected. Great animations for all classes, a GORGEOUS starting area, I love absolutely everything about it.

MoP might just turn out to be my favourite expansion ever.
