Feb 4th 2012 5:17PM Uh...what? I thought that lorewise, 90% of all blood elves were emotionally incapable of love.
Seriously though, cool picture. That WOULD be a very romantic view...
Feb 4th 2012 12:38PM I would say grinding Valor/Justice to get one of my fresh 85s up to iLevel 353 so he can run the new heroics. Why? Because, no offense to any of you guys, but I've noticed a sharp drop off in group competence in regular Cata heroics since 4.3...it seems many of the "good" players are now in HoT & Raid Finder, meaning that you have to be much more patient to get the Valor & Justice you need now if you're not high enough.
Also, "The Insane" title. I tried grinding out the rep for a couple months back in WotLK, and was like "forget this!!"
Jan 28th 2012 1:11PM I can think of quite a few...
-Ninja looting/loot drama
-Yelling at people in LFD/LFR in general. Being about as non confrontational as I can be, what I will usually do is let it go if it's something that was clearly stupid or serious, but blaming the healer when it's not entirely her fault, making a scene over one person's DPS even though we're clearly doing well enough as a whole to kill the bosses, etc, I will leave the party. I had a few incidents i Heroics several months ago where the person yelling at me was outright belligerent but I was actually too intimidated to say anything, so I just left.
-Condescending quest dialogue (Garrosh Hellscream, Argent Crusade, Frenzyheart Tribe, etc). I understand that WoW has a semi-military feel to it, but seriously, if my character is clearly a very powerful individual who has seen many great raids, is it so much to ask that he/she be treated with respect in the questlines? If any of you have played Rift (where your character is an "Ascended" who is held in very high regard) you'll know what I am talking about.
-Incessant spamming of '/train' in the AH. This happened all the time in the old SW AH in WotLK. Some idiot starts it, then a bunch of idiots follow suit. Its REALLY loud and annoying while your trying to focus on buying/selling stuff!!
-(as a healer) Tanks in LFD that pull while I'm drinking. Especially if they then blame me for letting them die or being a noob for running OOM.
A lot of things annoy me, I could go on forever LOL
Jan 18th 2012 7:57PM It's funny you mention the Velen prophecy. I was planning on making a WoW machinima set some time in between WotLK & MoP where my Holy Priest has recieved a vision from the Light that's something like this:
"The Alliance & the Horde have been given the opportunity to be the heroes of Azeroth, but much is expected of those to whom much has been given. The Alliance & the Horde have been given more of everything than any faction in the history of the Azeroth and they have failed to be humble with the power. If the Alliance & Horde continue to metaphorically spit on the Light's virutes of Respect & Compassion by arrogantly warring upon each other, both factions will have the Light's blessing withdrawn. Madness will strike the factions' Priests and Shamans which will result in civil chaos. The factions will lose the ability to defend themselves due to the costly war, leaving them vulnerable to more serious threats such as Azshara. Because of the quick-tempered nature of the people, you will have warriors killing merchants for gold & armor. The rest of azeroth will watch in horror as the two factions are obliterated by bloodlust. The Dragon Aspects, Argent Crusade, and the Earthen Ring will not intervene because they have been victims of exploitation by both factions. They will welcome the annihilation of such arrogant people. The Alliance & Horde must change immediately and become the teachers of compassion and heroism to the rest of the Azeroth. Today the two factions are the primary merchants of war and the culture of fascism that they preach to their people. This will come to an end because you have the seeds of your own destruction within you. Either you will destroy yourselves or the Light will bring it to an end if there isn't a change."
Jan 17th 2012 1:32PM Yeah, I wondered myself if Well of Eternity was meant to be an inside joke about annoying players in that regard...certainly seems like it now that you point it out.
Tyrande I don't mind, she handles the demon adds as kind of a nessecary "off-tank" and the running out of arrows and getting overwhelmed adds to the drama of the story. Malfurion does spend the last part of the instance more or less standing there in the background...I guess there wasn't really anything I expected him to be doing.
Illidan I agree about though, his impatience & inflated ego is annoying throughout the first part of the instance. I must say though, he's not the limit as far as hateable NPCs in WoW go. At least not if you play Horde. What I am talking about is Garrosh Hellscream in WotLK & Cata.
Seriously, the way the other leaders react to Garrosh's obnoxiousness just feels all kinds of wrong. The only Horde leader who even seems to notice it is Vol'jin, and even he tolerates it ridiculously well considering the way Garrosh treats him. Meanwhile, Sylvanas just shrugs off Garrosh's calling her a "bitch" in Silverpine, while Thrall even defends his choice of making Hellscream warchief on the grounds that the Horde needs a real leader!
At least Varian Wrynn has been shown to have a lot of respect for heroes, as shown by his actions in ICC raid, and in the pre-Twilight Highlands quests where he trusts you with accompanying his son...
Jan 8th 2012 12:39PM I have to agree with a lot of other people who say Holy Priest (it is my favorite spec to heal as), however, my favorite spec overall has to be Balance Druid. Moonkin Druids are awesome! Well worth the second spec slot for a Resto or Bear main spec. They actully exceed my expectations (many others in my guild who have one felt the same way).
To me, the Boomkin is kind of like a "Nature-type Shadow Priest" being that it isn't THAT overpowered, but all of their abilities and stuff are just really "cool" & "fun to play". Wild Mushrooms, a cool Eclipse mechanic, stars from the sky, Typhooning people off of bridges, the list goes on and on.
And oh yeah, I really like the Druid lore as well.
Jan 3rd 2012 12:41PM I actually would say I have three mains: Arcane Mage, Holy/Shadow Priest, and Balance/Resto Druid. I play all three about equally, and I would say that although I've been playing my Mage the longest, I like the Balance Druid as a DPS caster the best, and the Holy Priest is my favorite to heal as. As far as lore & abilities go, I like many things about all three.
Yeah, I've always preferred casting to melee - I just like having cool spells and stuff, and while soloing I get a real feeling of satisfacton out of killing most mobs before they can even get to me. Although it's essential to the mechanics of group PvE, running right into the thick of things has always kind of struck me as reckless & self-destructive.
It's also taken me awhile to realize it, but I've decided that I greatly prefer PvE to PvP & RPing characters that are more on their own side than their faction's. I'm kind of like Jaina & Thrall in that I've never been a big fan of the whole Alliance-Horde war (IMO, you haven't had the full WoW experience until you have at least one 85 on both factions). Furthermore, getting raped in duels, ganked & camped over and over again on a PvP server is not my idea of fun.
I'm not going to tell you what my name is. =P
Dec 30th 2011 12:38PM Something else I've been farming since 4.3 came out is the int leather shoulders for my Druid from Well of Eternity...has not dropped for me yet after about 12 runs...
Dec 30th 2011 11:18AM 1. The Virtreous Stone Drake in Stonecore. I have the North Wind drake from VP (and I've sen it drop three times) but I've only seen the stone drake once...and didn't win the roll. Still run SC if I'm in need of Justice Points rather than Valor on an alt.
2. The Blue Proto Drake. Did many runs in WotLK, did several more runs with leveling alts through 80, and have started to solo H UP...still have yet to see it drop even once.
Nov 20th 2011 10:39PM If it is confirmed that Jaina will indeed become more or less a female Varian Wrynn, I'm going to cancel my subscription. I know perfectly well that the reason Blizzard is putting in this Horde attack on Theramore and is (apparently) going to make Jaina a major Alliance warmonger, is because players have been complaining that she is too soft-hearted & overly emotional, and so now they’re giving that portion of the player base what they wanted.
Long story short, the deck is stacked to support sophomoric PvPers rather than role-players & raiders, and has been ever since WotLK.
It's either a dramatized event, meaning that Jaina will realize that peace with the new Garrosh-led Horde is not going to be possible and will have to fight back (but maybe still try to find ways to change all of that), or it's just flat out one of the worst decisions I've ever seen any video game design team make about a single character.
The 2nd worst being when SOE revamped the Kelethin storyline to be more combat-oriented in EQ2 Sentinel’s Fate. It's right up there with that decision, IMO.
