Patch 1.12, Drums of War part 2 {WoW}

Oct 5th 2011 11:27AM I remember listening to TB and Kikijiki read me these changes with their snarky British accents on [EPIC]. Good times.

Oct 5th 2011 11:02AM Is there any way to get a feel for a server's community before transferring to it for real? Level one alts generally just get answers like "Nope." or "Yep."

Know Your Lore: Anduin Lothar, The Lion of Azeroth part 2 {WoW}

Aug 17th 2011 3:49PM The only problem with this is that the Night Elves, Draenei, and possibly to some extent, the Gnomes, have no reason to feel the same inspiration from the battle cry as the Humans, (possibly) Worgen, and Dwarves do. Certainly the outlying races of the Alliance can respect his accomplishments, but their own tales, heroes, and struggles certainly would overshadow the Second War.

There are two very simple reasons why the Horde battle cry is so beloved by the Horde. The concept of the Horde is very badass, and somewhat foreign to us as humans, beyond mob mentality. The concept of an alliance is very familiar. The other reason is all in the syllables. "For the Horde" gets out much quicker than "For the Alliance". In the time it takes you to get out "For the Alliance", you probably already got an arrow in the mouth or something.

It's weird, because the standard battle cry for each faction really only works for one continent. The Kalimdor Horde certainly can rally around "For the Horde", with the exception MAYBE being the goblins. MAYBE. Every time I think about a Belf or Forsaken saying "For the Horde", I always imagine it being said with bite or blatant sarcasm.

"For Lothar" works great for anyone affected by the First and Second war, but that really only applies to the Eastern Kingdoms Alliance. In the heat of battle, if a Human were to cry out "For Lothar!", it's just as likely that his Draenei companion would turn to him and ask
"Who's Lothar?"

Jul 20th 2011 8:13PM Personally, I loves me some gankin' Archimonde Horde. They never see it coming, they don't expect to be messed with anymore.
