Mar 30th 2012 8:57AM I am with you Mat, the use of the word "toon" makes my skin crawl.
Not as much as "soz" or putting lol in every sentence, though. Toon just degrades the pixels I have put some much time in :) Character is what I use to refer to them. Not even char.
Oct 21st 2011 6:05PM I can SO see them taking this further and onto mobile/social in patch 5.x . Love it. Love everything about it a ton!
Oct 20th 2011 8:49AM Streamin' all the way from The Netherlands, staying up all night and gobbling up every little detail...and midnight snack/cans of Monster.
Oct 9th 2011 4:17AM I just did a quest in Dragonblight where I met "Future Me" and we protected an hourglass that summoned Nozdormu.
Future Me Boomkin, however, sounded like some jaded LFG-prick when he whispered me and said he hoped I would get some better gear. QvQ
Oct 7th 2011 7:23PM Thanks letter-writer for the questions which are almost the exact questions that have been going through my mind lately and of course, thanks Tyler for choosing to answer them in a very clear manner. It's great to have something to work on and improve.
Oct 7th 2011 5:03PM I just downloaded the BlizzCon mobile app which already has the schedule for BlizzCon. Of course I immediately checked for the word Pandaria but the schedule is in general terms. There however is a special item for patch 4.3... so the expansion is still shrouded in ... Mist.
Oct 6th 2011 6:23AM Started playing WoW in january and at the same time got my first Apple computer, an iMac 27". Both have a special meaning to me that others might find silly but it's the joy of using computers and playing games that goes unparalleled to anything that came before, for the 20 years I've been gaming on Win PC. This is highly subjective and I respect everyone for loving Windows Games. I've been developing .NET for 10 years and it's great so no fanboyism here, just a lot of appreciation for Apple.
Steve, may you rest in peace and thank you for making my life easier and more enjoyable with Apple products and bringing joy to millions with Pixar movies.
Oct 5th 2011 9:22AM I should add that I think WoW Insider is already doing a remarkable job at writing about most of those topics in general and Blizz doing a pretty good job at informing the community. I have some stuff in the works for my own blog but it would be a dream "job" and an honor to be able to write a recurring article series that goes in depth on the more "techy" or developer side of WoW, especially for this audience, which I think is great!
Oct 5th 2011 9:13AM I would love to write a new kind of format together with Bossy on the design and architecture of WoW. Sort of an "under the hood" kind of article, looking at mechanics and technology.
As a developer/architect/designer/nerd/geek I very often find myself looking at the game from this perspective and I have a special interest for when Blizzard gives us a look into their kitchen on such varied topics as class homogenization, server architecture, reward -models, encounter design, client or server API's and even subjects like demand and change Management for features and bugs.
The idealist in me has some hope that maybe this would also help people understand better the limitations and possibilities of the ecosystem and the plethora of technological challenges of an MMO the size of WoW and get more enjoyment out of playing even when the Nerfhammer strikes them.
Sep 30th 2011 10:41AM Thanks for elaborating on that. I don't know what it would make me in the eyes of people who like to label others but despite aggravated political polarisation issues (that are present everywhere also in Europe), I just love America , am an Americanophile. I shall look up the book you mentioned :)
