5 ways to fail at Battlegrounds {WoW}

Feb 29th 2012 5:42PM My favourite variation on #5 is the guy who starts saying "give up! Let them win!" as soon as the other team takes a slight lead.

The Lawbringer: A very special cake {WoW}

Feb 3rd 2012 4:31PM But when you give the screenshot to the cake shop to put on the cake, aren't you effectively attempting to transfer the license? It's not really personal use - I'm giving the image to the cake shop, and they're selling it back to me, in cake form.

Patch 4.3 changes make leveling fishing a breeze {WoW}

Dec 2nd 2011 3:55PM This is, by far, the worst thing ever.

Because I just got my main to 525 last week. :(

Encrypted Text: Leveling your rogue in Cataclysm {WoW}

Sep 1st 2011 9:33AM I love playing subtlety. Sneak, sneak, sneak, stab! Repeat! It sucks when you get caught out of stealth, but I enjoy the planning and strategy of the spec.

I heard a lot of people talking about how great Combat was, but I found it incredibly boring. Assassination is fun, but it felt like it took too long to get all the talents you needed (though I levelled my rogue pre-Cataclysm). There's no "best spec" if you don't like the playstyle.

The Queue: There is a ret column coming, I promise {WoW}

Aug 31st 2011 3:26PM "Personally, I'd love for Blizzard to include one explicit gay sex scene"

Even better if it was an essential part of the game. In order to escape Deathwing's Phase 2 attack, every member of your raid must participate in an orgy. You gain a 5% Crit buff for every same sex partner you satisfy.

Aug 31st 2011 1:16PM If WOW is intended to be a sexuality-free zone, they'd really better get rid of the succubus pet. That thing has some pretty serious sexual implications.

Aug 31st 2011 12:49PM "I don't want you to know about my sex life and I don't want to know about yours."

So if someone introduces you to their husband/wife, do you tell them you don't want to hear about it? Do you turn down all wedding invitations? Do you look away when a couple starts holding hands?

My relationship with my girlfriend is defined by more than intercourse. Homosexual relationships are the same way - yes, they have sex, but they also do lots of other things together.

Consequently, there are more ways to incorporate gay & lesbian characters into Warcraft than including explicit gay sex scenes.

Breakfast Topic: Are you there to down the boss or top the meter? {WoW}

Aug 15th 2011 9:38AM Good idea. I had one fight against Kilinara on my Fire Mage that just went perfectly - I got exactly the right combination of Hot Streaks, Combustion, and Impact, with a few nicely timed Blast Waves to boot. I think I had about 60K DPS - until I died about 30 seconds into the fight, because I aggroed absolutely everything.

WoW Rookie: How to deal with disruptive players and hate speech {WoW}

Aug 12th 2011 11:50AM I think there's a bit too much focus on the age of the child. Yes, the game is aimed at older ages, but if a parent has reviewed the content and decided it's appropriate for their child, that's fine. The letter even says "WE play Warcraft", which suggests a fairly high level of parental involvement.

This complaint isn't about too much violence or other game content. It's about hateful slurs and insults that shouldn't be acceptable for any age group. (and are possibly against the rules of the game?) I'm in my 30s, and I think about quitting the game after listening to some trade chat or PUGs; while it's relatively simple to turn off certain features, that seems like a surrender - "don't use these parts of the game, since they're used by arrogant racist loudmouths".

Breakfast Topic: How do you deal with self-entitled puggers? {WoW}

Aug 9th 2011 11:08AM Lately, I've been in a few pugs with excessively snobby guildmates who want to kick someone for low DPS or making a mistake even if it's not hurting the group. Which seems stupid - people won't get any better if they get kicked out of groups for not being as well geared as everyone else.

On the whole, I'm much faster to vote for a kick if someone is rude than if they're lacking in ability or gear. I usually have more fun struggling through an instance with nice people than powering through it with a jackass.
