Hi, remember me? I've been here since 2004 {WoW}

Mar 9th 2012 1:27PM I agree that there should be some recognition of accounts that have paid for x number of months (not necessarily consecutive). I made an account in 2004 and played for a few months. Then quit for a year or so. Started up again for another couple months. Quit again. So on and so on. For those that have actually paid 80-90 months worth of subscription should get the AWESOME reward. Those that have done 70-80, a little less awesome, and on all the way down. It's kind of like an achievement reward for being a loyal customer. They give away mounts and titles and things for sinking countless hours into achievements. Why not throw in something for accounts based on total number of paid months? That is an achievement in itself, I'd say!

Former GM sues over baby murloc voice and song {WoW}

Mar 9th 2012 11:05AM Oh yes, absolutely murlocs are what WoW is all about. I mean, all of this Illidan, Arthas, Deathwing business is all side content. The real driving presence in World of Murloc is the Murlocs. EVERYONE knows this. Sheesh...

Oh, and it's obvious that's Amanda's voice. I mean, before I starting playing WoW, I had no idea who she was. But as soon as I heard the baby murloc voices, I just somehow automatically knew it was some chic named Amanda. Yeah. Blizzard totally messed up on this one. They owe her. THEY OWE HER BIG! YOU HEAR ME?! @.@

Officers' Quarters: Return of an X guild leader {WoW}

Nov 14th 2011 12:48PM This is really easy. It's not his guild anymore. He abandoned it months ago and the fact he was secretly posing as Z makes it worse and more to the point that he is actually probably a source of bad taste. Don't let it ruin what you and B have built up since he left. In the words of Metallica "HE LEFT THE F***ING BAND!". That's it! End! Kaput! Done! See ya! GTFO!

Breakfast Topic: How do you dodge certain guildmates for heroics? {WoW}

Sep 14th 2011 3:29PM I advocate working with people you are in game with frequently. We have guildies that are fail; I won't lie. I encourage them to come on heroics, actually, to get their gear and skill up. Part of the problem is the harsh environment that a PuG brings to the Dungeon Finder. Many people just stay out because they don't want to deal with the crap. But I just KNOW they would love some heroic and raid content right along with the next guy. So, I help them learn the trash pulls and boss mechanics, etc. I also help them with understanding their character and what they need to capitalize on.

HOWEVER, I have also found there are some people that just can't be helped. And in that case, I have had to say in guild chat "No offense, but you need to work on xyz like we talked about. Not bein' a d**k, it's just your not able to hold your own in these yet because of that and that needs fixed first, y'know?" And it's as simple as that! :)

I work with people as much as I can, but the player has to take ownership of their keyboard and mouse and throw down the deeps. Period. And I don't feel I have to dodge anyone. It's a game with finite mechanics and measurable needs. If you're not mature enough to say "Your character/rotation/whatever is lacking x y and z. That has to be fixed because it's just not going to withstand a heroic as is, I'm sorry.", then you need to grow a set before you open your mouth in guild chat again.

It's not personal, it's just a game. Why "dodge" anyone? I think that's a childish mentality. Why can't you call a spade a spade? Why can't you tell people the reason they're not ready for heroics yet? It may not be what they want to hear and even dull their day a bit, but honesty goes a lot further than being "dodgey". 2c

Two Bosses Enter: High Priestess Azil vs. Foe Reaper 5000 {WoW}

Sep 12th 2011 4:33PM I posted my comment before I read anyone else. Good to know I'm not the only one thinking that way...

Two Bosses Enter: High Priestess Azil vs. Foe Reaper 5000 {WoW}

Sep 12th 2011 4:31PM High Priestess Azil all the way. She can shield with 90% damage reduce, and throw gigantic stones that deal 400k a pop! Just look at Rock-Paper-Scissors. Rock crushes Scissors every time. It's the same thing here. Azil's rocks will crush Foe Reaper (scissor-hands).

Officers' Quarters: Raid leading is stressful {WoW}

Sep 12th 2011 3:42PM I'm new to raid leading and inexperienced at guild leading, and I've recently had my own run-in with the not-so-good times of RL'ing/GM'ing.

For loots, I'm sticking to the practice of "Main-Spec rolls come first if it's an upgrade for you. Otherwise, it goes to Greed roll for ALL. The End.". It's how I like to keep it because I have little desire to get into long discussions about "Well, it's a bigger upgrade for the mage than the spriest so the mage should get it, screw the ROLL.". No, the spriest rolled a 97 and it's an upgrade for them. Their rolling MS is valid and they won, case closed. Also with my rules, it is implied that you can MS roll on anything that drops so long as it really is for your MS and it's an upgrade. Sorry if cloth pieces keep dropping, guess the clothies are getting geared tonight! And if the spriest won every cloth roll tonight, SORRY AGAIN, CHARLIE! Look at it this way, they're geared out now so they can't MS roll on squat next week. Hooray! :D

And as for people "not getting along", I've wondered about the same thing myself. We're not progression, but we're progressing. Our guild and raid team is laid back. We show up for raid times, do it for 2 hours, then we're done until next week. We had a couple people join us for awhile and it seemed they were pretty good spirited and would be good for the group as a whole. Turns out they have little patience when things don't go the way they want them to and it turns into "I'm not raiding with that person this week", and then end up /gquitting on raid night because I wouldn't /gkick the person they didnt' like. OMG get over yourself.

So aside from that, we're drama-free and like to stay that way. It's a game. We're here to play and kill stuff and have fun. If where you're at and what you're doing isn't FUN and fulfilling, you need to GTFO. PERIOD. This could mean leaving, or removing the source of the problem. Either change your environment, or find a more suitable one. It's really not that complicated, is it?...

Breakfast Topic: What was your moment of awe in WoW? {WoW}

Sep 9th 2011 11:43AM Though I've played off and on since Vanilla, I don't feel like mine came until later during BC. Seeing Hellfire Peninsula for the first time with the gigantic demons by the Dark Portal and seeing Fel Reaver really made me stop in awe.
