Aug 25th 2011 11:00PM Darkmoon Faire confuses me but only because I have no idea what the hell it's about. When the Faire rolls into town, I usually skip over it. However, I did attempt to collect some paws but got bored by it and dropped the quest. Hopefully, this DMF island will bring me around.
Aug 25th 2011 10:46PM People don't want to TANK because they don't want all that responsibility sitting on their shoulders. Tank are automatically seen as a leader of the group and when a group wipes, Tank usually feel that they are the ones responsible (Healer comes next on that list) but really, a wipe is a wipe depending on how mismanaged a fight was. Tank pulls too far out Healer's LoS and he dies and group wipe. Or DPS pulls before Tank and DPS dies leaving the other four to take the brunt (usually successful nowadays in any dungeon to lose one DPS in the group, and in some case, even avoiding a wipe after losing Tank). At the top of the list as to why people don't want to Tank is 'Players attitude'. Nobody wants to hassle with players who don't really know what's going on and that's pretty sad. If a player seems nice enough then be nice in return. Voting him off the group is going to make him reconsider his role. Let's say a player gets rejected four times in a role as a TANK. Do you think he's going to stick around? no, he'll probably re roll to something else, or maybe re spec to something else. I'm an Arms Warrior with Prot as my secondary spec and I rarely ever switch over to Prot. For any Tank who wants to practice and become good at tanking, the best place for it is Violet Hold. Once you reach 80, just go there. But of course, by 80, you should have already learned the in's and out's of being a Tank. Not true because knowing how to do something is easy; Perfecting it take skills.
Aug 22nd 2011 4:53PM arghh "Not in healing in time." Is there an edit button?
Aug 22nd 2011 4:51PM My biggest pet peeves is when some DPS-recount-jerk just randomly calls me a 'Huntard' when it wasn't provoked. A person who just insults another class out of randomness and then starts up an argument during a dungeon run really grates on my nerves. I've been asked: 'Hunter, set trap' and I do what I'm told without thinking too much about it. To me, it's a case by case thing. If I were running chain-heroics for half a day, I run the risk of finding people who just refers to people by class; not names. I remember running with a Pally tank who couldn't shut his mouth. He would say: "Huntard, set your trap plox" I knew immediately that this jerk was either 12 years old or he's just an around douche-bag who will end up getting kicked out, or end up starting an argument with someone. He did. He went on to attack the rogue and then the Healer for healing in time. We voted him out of the group. (shrug)
Aug 15th 2011 3:28PM It minimizes the threat level when a person who urinated in an alley and a rapist shares the same 'Sex Offender' title. When people see that title, they don't think "Oh, he's a pisser", no, they're going to think "OMG, a rapist!" Although, I don't think a pisser is going to have to go door to door to tell the neighbors what he was guilty of. Being on the list as a 'sex offender' for a non-serious crime would ruin anyone's life. You have this record that will be forever associated with you no matter if it's been cleared or not. We also have to deal with who is a real threat and who isn't because the sex offender registry are overcrowded as it is and anyone who checks their registry will go nuts thinking they've got nothing but rapist living all around them. Before anyone go around accusing anyone of something they have no idea about; they should first talk to that individual. Hopefully, he was charged with pissing behind a dumpster, and pray that he wasn't found guilty of being a peeping tom. Sorry if I posted this twice. I don't know if the first post went through or not. I like to think WOW is the safest place for anyone because Blizzard logs everything.
Aug 13th 2011 3:50PM A third faction would need to have their own toon in order to separate them from the other race. What's to keep a 3rd Faction Human from walking off somewhere with a 3rd Faction Orc only to have that 3rd faction Human take him to the Ally Human for a ganking opportunity (and or, vice versa) You know a Horde Orc isn't going to immediately kill a 3rd Faction Orc if he's standing next to a 3rd Faction Human because he'll go after the human first. Confusion would run wild and you would always have to second guess whether that Orc off in a distance is really a member of the Horde or the 3rd faction.
Aug 13th 2011 3:30PM How do you engage non-raiders to take part in an 'End of WOW' We know that people would love to raid just as much as anyone else but they are always sufficiently under geared so how would we be able to involve the non-raiders to feel as if they're part of the Endgame.
Should a 10/25 Raid also rely on their lower level guild members to do their part by forming their own little 10 man raid to take down 'An essence' of the final boss? An Essence, that needs defeating which requires a certain level bracket (once defeated, goes on a one week timer so that the higher level Raid can have time to form their 10 or 25 man raid for the main boss, and also, have the boss be less of a problem without all his essence still up, or what not)
