Feb 17th 2012 3:07PM After reading this article what I’m coming away with is a resolution to not label people as casual or hardcore. It also makes me want to ask people how they define themselves. Do they see themselves as hardcore or casual? And why?
I think I’m pretty casual. I’ve never done a level-appropriate instance before, unless getting a run through by my max-level boyfriend counts. And I’m sure it doesn’t. It took me 8 months to get to level 85, and only JUST started doing quests in Borean Tundra – trying to get my loremaster achievement. That’s probably the only thing I’m hardcore about, getting those PVE achievements.

Feb 9th 2012 1:46PM I agree, PvP is my least favorite part of the game – I’m so terrible at it! I only ever enter a BG when I’m trying to get a holiday achievement. It’d be nice if PvP achievements weren’t part of the meta achievement for the holidays.
That said I have SO much respect for the people who enjoy and do PvP well. Playing against another player requires a heck of a lot of strategy and skill. More love for the PvPers!
Feb 7th 2012 12:44PM I’m a lore junkie on Thorium Brotherhood, Horde side. Thorium Brotherhood is an RP realm but I’ve never seen much role-playing happen out in the open; mostly it’s full of raiders and pvpers who don’t mind role-playing going on around them when it happens. As such my guild, the Tyrant Lords is full of folks who like to raid and pvp, and very few if any know anything about the story behind any of the quests they do.
That’s where I come in. My official title in the guild is the Tyrant Lorekeeper. I pay attention to the lore, reading the novels and short stories and visit WoW Insider daily to keep up on what’s going on around Azeroth. I love learning about the history and the heroes of WoW and when someone in the guild has a question about lore I almost always have an answer – heh, often derived from something I’ve read here in one of WoW Insider’s Know Your Lore articles! (I also seem to be the only one who can use WowWiki and WoWHead while playing…)
I know it’s not a very important role, especially since I don’t do any raiding or PvPing, and I level at the pace of an ancient kodo. But my guild leader and officers have always told me they appreciate that I’m so active and positive in guild chat. The Tyrant Lords is an awesome guild with great leadership, and as long as they’re happy enough with my lore-geeking to make me Tyrant Lorekeeper, then I’m more then happy to keep doing it. :)
TL;DR: I’m the guild lore-geek.
