Apr 2nd 2012 8:14PM Not that it matters but: Asheron's Call did it first. There used to be crowds of us, fighting and being slaughtered by the dread white bunny!
I've got screenshots at home, but nahhh.
Apr 2nd 2012 4:17PM Oh wow, that's not the beginning? That's _great_ to know.
My experience in this dungeon caused me to shrug and go back to playing Live. (I'll be back to the beta soon I'm sure.)
I got my bars set up how I like 'em, queued for the dungeon, waited 30 minutes, and showed up in front of anger and strife. Nobody could explain it, and when someone finally did (my imperfect impression is to pick one, DPS it to 5 stacks, let the stacks fall off, repeat) nobody else would follow the instructions.
All I wanted was to try out my new spells in combat. :(
Dec 8th 2011 6:02PM Oh hey I was just talking about you. Glad you made it to the thread, and thanks for the link - now I finally get to see what you were talking about.
Dec 8th 2011 6:00PM My guild leader says that there was originally an alliance storyline/movie around getting to the Twilight Highlands that was closer to the Horde version which made Varian MUCH more badass, deep, developed his character, etc. I don't know how he knows this - maybe it was a big story and I just missed it. But it sounds cool. I now have raiding characters in both factions, and finally got to see the horde version - WHOA. Big, big difference. I love me some Flintlocke, but alliance truly did get robbed, there.
Horde version here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTqKi1VDQlE
I can't find this supposed cool alliance version anywhere.
Dec 1st 2011 7:51PM I've got a question for either Matthew or the Lawbringer (or if he's both, then just Matthew.)
Licenses in Addons: Are they legit? Can you license an addon to a work you don't own? Does WoW's license/TOS enable/support that or is that irrelevant? Has it ever been tested in court?
Just curious, no intentions (good bad or indifferent) here to do anything with anybody's addon, I just always wondered this. It came up today because like you mention, RealUI's author is leaving wow. (Maybe somebody could take it over?) So, I took a look at ElvUI and sure enough there's a license for it. Apparently they had trouble with others copying them in the past.
Thank in advance!
Oct 27th 2011 7:21PM MageManaBar is getting to be pretty nice.
My (left) shoulder tendonitis might get some use from a Nostromo.
Oct 8th 2011 6:05PM Kavan's been a huge boon to Blizzard in general and mages specifically. Astrylian too. The only downside to Rawr is that each class and sometimes spec needs it's own dedicated developer, or it dies. You can no longer use it for every class - some haven't been updated for Cataclysm.
I use it for my main (a mage, naturally) but find myself having to rely on AskMrRobot.com for my hunter, rogue, etc.
A HUGE thanks to the Rawr devs for making it work as well as it does!!
Sep 23rd 2011 6:14PM The problem I have with loot systems is when there is also social pressure to pass loot to players who "need it more" for the "good of the raid". I call BS right there.
You want to have people passing loot, CODIFY IT IN THE RULES. None of this "Please sir, after you." "No I insist sir, after _you_" garbage. If it's part of the stated loot rules, great. Otherwise, it makes me a little less interested before.
At best, this is unfortunately covered by, "and of course the GL has the last word", meaning their buddy gets the loot.
(Yes this happened, no I wasn't involved as a loot candidate or officer or anything really.)
