Breakfast Topic: I don't like the word 'toon' {WoW}

Mar 30th 2012 12:23PM I've never heard anyone use "deeps" to refer to damage per second, as in "Check out my deeps on Recount."

I've only heard it when referring to a DPS player, and even then only in spoken conversation, never typed. E.g. "So what are we waiting for?" ... "We're just waiting on a pair of deeps, then we're good to go."

Strangely, I find the latter to be acceptable, but the former to be grating. I've never seen anyone actually type out "deeps" to refer to either...but I imagine that'd be pretty annoying.

Mar 30th 2012 11:52AM From a typing standpoint, it's much faster to type "ok," assuming you're using more than one finger to type it.

I was told, once upon a time, that "kk" was short for "Okay, cool."

There's probably a whole long spiel we could get into regarding linguistics but the use of "kk," from my understanding is like a more congenial version of "ok."

I.E. "ok" seems cold and impersonal, whereas "kk" seems warm and friendly.

Ghostcrawler explains spec-specific quest rewards in MoP {WoW}

Mar 30th 2012 8:40AM Everytime I see a reference to the JC's ore shuffle I inevitably get LMFAO's Party Rock stuck in my head...

So thanks for that. =P

Mar 30th 2012 8:24AM Am I the only one who (mostly) picks quest rewards based on how much they vendor for?

If the only piece of gear that I could use is inferior to or just a minor upgrade over what I'm using, I always just take the one with the highest vendor value. This gear is going to be replaced if it's used at all.

Drakkenfyre's solution is obviously much better. Restricting our options is never a good idea. Also, I really cannot imagine a character being at level 85 and not knowing that their hunter does not need to use intellect/spirit gear...

Mar 28th 2012 9:18AM Anyone else notice the name of the achievement to unlock the third slot?

Seems like Blizzard is trolling us since they're removing Have Group =P.

Mar 26th 2012 11:14AM I know people who still insist that it's Ogrimmar, as if it's a city for Ogres.

Also Furblog, as if they're a race of furry internet writers.

Mar 14th 2012 2:25PM It's not quite auto-prospecting, but set your auto-loot on and keybind the following macro:

/use Prospecting
/use Obsidium Ore
/use Elementium Ore

You can add any other type of ore you want to the macro. Just make sure they're in multiples of 5, spam the button, and watch a movie.

Ghostcrawler explains stat changes in Mists of Pandaria {WoW}

Mar 2nd 2012 12:45PM At the beginning of Cata, while gearing up for T11 raids, some PvP items were BiS for my bear tank. Ironically, at the end of Cata, my BiS neck item is also a PvP piece.

With these changes, it appears the devs are going to stop this madness altogether, which is a very good thing.

----------------------------------------------------------
One thing I don't get though, they have 2 seemingly conflicting statements above:

"If you fight players in lots of PvE gear, they'll take more damage. Likewise, a player in PvE gear won't have enough Power to effectively penetrate your Defense."

"The goal of this change is to make it easier ... for a PvE player to get started in PvP..."

If anything, it seems like this will make it HARDER for PvE players to get started in PvP. They flat out said PvE players won't do much of anything vs someone wearing all PvP gear.

Breakfast Topic: Do your WoW and real-life friendships overlap? {WoW}

Jan 27th 2012 9:57AM I followed the link to the dailymail article, read it and the comments.

Apparently it is fairly standard in Thailand to not have appliances grounded. And even if they are, the wiring for the buildings is usually borked.

Tragic death, and completely preventable. Tourists beware.
