Arcane Brilliance: MoP talent calculator changes for mages, part 1 {WoW}

Feb 19th 2012 4:45PM No, no, I actually agree. That's what I thought when I read it.

Pop the shield

Take 60,000 damage in 4 seconds...but the shield absorbs it and you don't get hit at all.

For the next 6 seconds, you take 10,000 damage per second. It's like a damage loan...don't worry about it for the time being, but then you gotta make some payments...

4 steps for dealing with Raid Finder harassment {WoW}

Jan 30th 2012 10:32PM How come? Wouldn't it only help, since you get even MORE healing?

Jan 30th 2012 8:11PM So. What's wrong with dual wielding Souldrinkers? Seems highly logical.

Jan 30th 2012 11:01AM Hmmmm. Great pic, but rather tasteless description. Not offensive, per say, but I would have chosen a different direction.

"Our cow is a vengeful cow" was a great line ;)

Profanity filters, homophobic slurs, and Blizzard's shaky relationship with the LGBT community {WoW}

Jan 25th 2012 10:45AM I feel the same way about Gold Capped ;)

But anyway. I like WoW because it's a break from all the crap that goes on in day-to-day life, such as this topic. Yep, you guys go ahead and talk about it, and I AGREE WITH YOU, but, I should listen to my own advice and stay out of it. Have fun. I'm gonna go punch Deathwing in the face. Thanks for the conversation, Agony

Jan 25th 2012 10:31AM No, we're not talking about World of Warcraft. If we were, we'd be talking about raiding and questing and all sorts of fun things like that. I enjoy Blizzard staying out of political stuff in the game, and having a somewhat "ignorance is bliss" stance.

Whenever I'm in a group that the people just don't seem to share my values...degrading sexual remarks, objectifying women, religious slurs...I get away from the group.

People who let it (yes, LET IT) affect their enjoyment of the game need to step off their perch and realize such is life, surround yourself with people who care deeply about you and are positive. Otherwise if you allow yourself to remain in degrading situations, yep, you're gonna have a mighty crappy time playing the game. I used to be in a guild like that. It was awful, and leaked out into real life. Leaving was the best thing I could do. They have a RIGHT to talk like that...that's freedom of speech...and who am I to take away their rights? So, I'll take the moral high ground and leave.

Jan 25th 2012 10:15AM Should legitimate non-slang terms be filtered like that? Probably not. Should potentially offensive terms like fag and faggot be filtered? Yeah probably. But let's get real here: this is a game, and Blizzards job is to make great gaming experiences. Sure, sure, the language filter is needed for younger children and sensitive adults, but that's not what the game is about. Does hipocracy in the filter mean Blizzard is taking some sort of political or lifestyle stance? Nope. Does this endorse calling people fags? Nope. Do I think cruel language and inflammatory comments are even remotely acceptable? Of course I don't. Everyone needs to respect everyone, regardless of if you agree or not.

Honestly, it's posts like these that offend me, not the language used. I've been called some pretty awful things, and they have hurt me deeply. But using a well-trafficked website such as this as a platform to ramble about something getting through the censors...come on. That's disgusting.

Let's get back on topic and discuss World of Warcraft. Thanks.

The Queue: Post-Winter Veil recovery {WoW}

Dec 26th 2011 2:24PM Yeah, actually I know what's up. So, you might recall that awhile back, Blizzard decided not to renew their contract with Upper Deck Entertainment (UDE). Since UDE were the ones making the Trading Card Game and the Minis, both were up for grabs. Cryptozoic snatched up the TCG, but Minis were lost in the shuffle. So, the Onyxia Raid Set, and a few planned expansions, were all cancelled. Since no one has touched it for almost 3 years now, I'm guessing it's a lost cause. However, I agree with you: that was a sweet concept and a super cool implementation of Tabletop WoW. I've never played it (I have an issue with spending too much on collectible stuff, so I don't even start anymore) but from what I saw of it, it looked fantastic. I hope it comes back just as much as you :) Happy Christmas :)
