The spirit of giving, even in WoW {WoW}

Dec 26th 2007 9:31PM Well, all I have to say is that after spending hours giving away bags full of stuff that would have otherwise gone on the AH (gave it mostly to low and mid level characters, but there was a lot of stuff from Outland), some asshat raider who had been spamming the TRADE channel with his guild recruitment spiel called me a nub.

What gratitude.

To all the rest of you, Happy Holidays. :-)

If you can't beat the gold farmer, make everyone's life miserable {WoW}

Oct 15th 2007 3:33PM GREAT article!

Blizzard, the one-hour lag is not just annoying the gold sellers, it's annoying legit subscribers, too. Quit punishing your players, dammit.

I have a hard time picturing you getting a date at a raid. Of the extra popcorn, I have no doubt. The question is: are you Kyle or Cartman?

Charity for beggars, or lack thereof {WoW}

Mar 8th 2007 5:40PM Depends on the character I'm playing. Since I roleplay my toons differently, some responses are a little less charitable than others.

That said, I had someone come to a lowbie alt the other day and ask for assistance with a mob above their level. I took a few minutes to help them, and they were very grateful - and roleplayed the whole thing. They asked if I could make them some items, and I said I would if I had the mats. They asked what the mats were, then proceeded to open a trade window and supply the mats AND gold for a tip.

So the bottom line is (I guess) just because someone asks for help with something, it doesn't mean they are a beggar. Sometimes, if you interact with them, you will find they are just new, and trying to get a handle on the game. And although I can be an asshat to people who are jerks, I think it's good policy not to be the jerk FIRST.

But that's just me.

Help WoW Insider fight gold and powerleveling ads {WoW}

Feb 16th 2007 11:05AM This is the most idiotic post ever. People who are going to buy gold are going to buy it whether you have those ads listed or not. You want a list of ads to ban, START WITH ZWINKY.

I think sites like this, who eschew ad revenue based on content, are missing the point. If you were a major site with sponsors, perhaps you could afford to choose, but the fact that you are using google ads and the junk along the sidebar makes you look like just another hungry, wanna-be respected site.

Get over yourselves and just concentrate on the content, rather than the moral ground. Or is it a slow news day? I honestly expect better from you guys.

Around Azeroth: Does this thing have a black box? {WoW}

Feb 13th 2007 10:34AM Perhaps the >dragons< ate the black box after they crashed the ship?

Confessions of an Outland clown, part 2 {WoW}

Feb 8th 2007 2:59PM Depending on the toon, I will sacrifice quality for a decent look (I'm on a roleplaying server - I prefer not to look like a clown). When it comes time to go on a difficult quest or in an instance, however, I don't care what I look like if I have to survive.

Somehow, I get the impression Blizzard didn't think the whole CONSISTENCY thing through in terms of gear. And of course, they make money when people grind through to the end game for the best stuff.

Maybe my next character's name will be BOZO and I will try to get the most ridiculous combination of gear together to make a point.
