Mar 22nd 2012 12:56PM It doesn't solve the problem. People sat around capital cities before HGWT, they sat around capital cities after it was introduced, and will continue to sit around capital cities after it goes away unless there's a compelling reason to get out there. HGWT going MIA is just not a compelling reason.
Are they removing summoning stones and warlock summons? No? So it just means it takes more clicks to get your raid there. So they'll mass up outside or just inside the raid instance be "out in the world" for all of a few minutes in highly localized area.
Deathwing said it best when he found out: "YOU HAVE DONE NOTHING! but add annoying inconvenience back to the game." He's not just being bitter over The Cataclysm being over, he has a valid point here. "Being out in the world doesn't mean spending more time at the summoning stone." he goes on. "I flew around Azeroth because there was something out there that was really kick ass to do. Believe me, if there weren't some serious death and carnage to be had (big incentive) to offset the travel time, I would have just sat atop my roost in Stormwind. It wasn't the travel time it was the activities."
It does seem an odd way to get people out there... make it inconvenient to get there. Also I assume the next logical step, according to the Blizzard think tank logic, is to remove mage portals. They only lead to other capital cities. They don't get anyone out in the world or "out in the travel."
Remember when GC said that the reason it didn't make sense that you should be able to fly in a magical floating city in the sky is that he wanted Dalaran to look like an ant farm? The best way to accomplish that was to make it inconvenient to leave the city.
It's not the end of the World, it's just another annoying brain fart that goes on for way to long.
Mar 2nd 2012 2:22PM Clearly the solution is to remove the range and zone restrictions on [Demonic Circle: Teleport].
Mar 2nd 2012 11:12AM Wonder if they'll ever add XP gains from fishing in pools (Like mining, herbalism, and archeology).
Mar 1st 2012 10:33PM "There is only Powwah!!!"
Feb 29th 2012 12:25PM I've yet to see a level 25 guild with 100% completion on guild achievements. It seems there's always something to do. It's just a matter of getting a few people excited about doing things.
Feb 20th 2012 12:15PM Seems kinda silly that they still won't let Warlocks name their pets... I predict that they'll let Mages name their pets first then, after some time, let Warlocks name their pets but have some stupid restriction on it to make it inferior to the mage ability.
Feb 16th 2012 11:24AM I have 4 alts with that mount. grumble grumble grumble... maybe they can MoP up that mess too :P
Feb 16th 2012 11:18AM "Does anyone think that flying mounts are getting a little bit too large?"
Does anyone think that the upper door to the Undercity elevator is just too damned small? Amazing cataclysmic changes!! Same damned door.
Pandas look kinda big... maybe Tauren sized... oh god here we go again.
Feb 10th 2012 12:56PM Are "account wide achievements" going to be like other "account wide" items (i.e. BOA gear) which are actually realm wide? Will we have to lay down 25 bucks (character transfer) to get achievements consolidated to one realm?
Feb 10th 2012 12:48PM "... result of people opening their Satchel of Exotic Mysteries they got from queueing as one of the in-demand roles (tank or healer, usually). Those often contain gems."
Has anyone on a live realm ever actually got a satchel as a DPS? Ever? Call me a skeptic but you can likely replace "usually" with "exclusively" and no one will argue with you about it.
