Know Your Lore: Never to rise again {WoW}

I always thought becoming one with him and winning the battle of minds, as described in the book, "obliterated" Ner'zhul as a person, making a new one with traits of both.

Wasn't this always an ultra-nerdy discussion? No? *slowly walks away*

But if he's become one with Ner'zhul and has assimilated him -- doesn't that mean that he IS Ner'zhul as well? Or at least Ner'zhul is part of him, and thus he was in fact, once a shaman?
@Ata
I've heard of phylacteries before actually reading HP (I came into those series faily late in their development); but I think it would be cheap to use them to bring Arthas back. We know he's gone. Sylvanas herself saw him in "the darkness", whatever afterlife she saw when she fell on that saronite spike.

Apr 4th 2012 2:38PM I don’t like the idea of Arthas having phylacteries, it’s horcuxes all over again really. I mean ripping off his heart, which was like totally giving in, crossing to the other side or something.
It was also mentioned that Arthas contradicts himself when saying he was once a shaman. Well he was. Arthas took control of the Helm for himself, beating Ner’zhul, assimilating him. We can presume he assimilated his talents too. An example of this is teleportation. The Lich King opens portals from (presumably) Icecrown, and to every corner in Northrend. But Arthas never knew magic and portals. He inherited this ability after merging with Ner’zhul (and shoving him to some dark corner shortly afterwards).
Now what I find interesting is the Val’kyr. Could the Val’kyr be manipulated by Bolvar? That would be very interesting. I doubt that a remnant of Arthas is there pulling their strings, but Bolvar…

Apr 4th 2012 2:05PM Doubtful. Would Arthas serve us a phylactery like that? He was clever enough to pull a Xanatos Gambit on us, so I think he'd probably more careful with his soul than handing it to his doorman/"Cerberus"

Apr 4th 2012 1:49PM My thoughts exactly.

Of monks, mains, and the ability to change {WoW}

Apr 2nd 2012 7:35PM I have three characters I consider mains.
Mage, rogue, warrior. (Mage is the all father, was created first) I chose them so, because they're the archetypal RPG classes (in my mind at least). Magic, guile and strength. The only other character I consider a main, is my DK, because I love him so much thematically, and playing with him just feels sweet.
I'll certainly try monking, but I don't think I'll stick to it.

Breakfast Topic: I don't like the word 'toon' {WoW}

I... didn't know that. THANK YOU. It solves the problem of writting all those nightmarish names with the crazy letters!
