Apr 30th 2007 12:08PM One thing stops me from getting excited about new legendaries: the fact that they're Tempest Keep only. I guess my reaction is just a big old: what is the POINT? Why not make an encounter balanced around the gear we get to keep? How do they really make things more interesting? Only a few of them even have an on use ability, so the others don't even give you tactical choices.
Clue me in on what I'm missing, here, someone.
Apr 18th 2007 11:40AM I so don't like the priest set. Emperor Palpatine, anyone? It's a hugely shadow-oriented look in my book. What kind of holy priest wants chained and blindfolded faces on their clothes? Creepy is putting it mildly.
But hey, we're all used to wearing for utility, not looks, in this game.
Apr 17th 2007 3:32PM If it was a guild group, why not just ask those with her on the run to roll again? Winner gets to sell it. It's not like she has to hunt down PuG members.
Apr 11th 2007 1:04PM If that were truly their game design philosophy, with the nerfs, then I'd be left shaking my head. Wouldn't it be far less frustrating, to change the environment up (especially in PvP), rather than to change the classes? That would achieve the same goals without alienating or aggravating a good number of their players. Additionally, if it was truly PvP-oriented, they'd be able to leave their PvE players in peace while tweaking for optimum PvP interest. *wistful sigh*
Mar 19th 2007 8:19AM Yet again, another wowinsider article which makes me want to shout out: "Hellooooooooo, women play too!" Ugh.
Not all WoW gamers are men holding a pissing contest about sex.
Sorry -- the article (and a few before it, here) really provoked me. Bah.
Mar 14th 2007 8:19AM "It's not a nerf for priests. It's a bonus for Warlocks." Hee. Are the priests considered just a bit touchy, perhaps?
Mar 13th 2007 4:30PM Bah. Yet some more "it's mean but hee hee hee" humor. Snark your friends good-naturedly, but come on, hunting for easy targets? Puhlease.
Mar 13th 2007 8:17AM To those that say they play the game for fun, not loot: Lots of us find the 'fun' in the game to be not just the content (though that's up there), but in the gearing up. The game is rather built around that, too. Once you've seen the content, what keeps you coming back? Blizzard sure wants you to go again and again and again and again and... you get the picture.
About socketed items, my biggest beef is meta gems. If I want the +healing/-threat diamond, then I need to put different gems in all my other sockets than I would normally put there. It's like Blizzard is dangling this pretty thing above your head and then waggling a finger and saying "uh uh uhhhh, no meta for you unless you take off some of the other pretties." Which makes that meta less worthwhile.
Feb 21st 2007 3:56PM CoH: Circle of Healing
FH: Flash Heal
GH: Greater Heal
PoH: Prayer of Healing
PoM: Prayer of Mending
Dec 13th 2006 9:55AM Is CoH useful? I'm not sure I'll find out. I couldn't make myself give up what felt like critical talents in the discipline tree to try it out, and the one priest in our guild that went full Holy specced to shadow only two days later.
I definitely see situational uses for it, and I'm all for more instants. I don't see getting it if it means my *healing* spec talents in discipline have to go by the wayside.
