Mar 5th 2012 11:08AM Love is such a beautiful thing...
Mar 1st 2012 6:36PM I do remember this trailer!
I don´t remember where I saw this the first, just that it was some
time after I bought Warcraft 3... And was playing it everyday, both
campaign in Hard setting or multiplayer (man, did I suck at it...)
And I remember seeing it, but not realizing what it was about...
Thought it could be another expansion for Diablo, or maybe another
Baldur´s Gate game... Yes, I didn´t realize it was Blizzard at
first... Yet, I was really thrilled seeing the images, and kept
thinking, "What game is this? Seems very fun!"
Then the logo came in... And my jaws fell... I got goosebumps all
over, and pushed the rewind button!
Feb 29th 2012 9:20AM *happens once a month...
It is hard, but not THAT hard... hehe
Feb 29th 2012 9:19AM I said previously that there was nothing new to PVP, but looking back to this topic now, after a couple weeks, I realized I was wrong...
There is a very vicious achievement that can be either PVP or Seasonal... And that is...
Take all the awesomeness of completing the Gurubashi Arena 8 times, only this time in a closed area with only one entrance and in an event that happens only once a year. Unlike the Gurubashi Arena, you can´t try to go in in server off-times or sneak in. I don´t see anyboy completing this unless there is a guild group helping them.
Feb 21st 2012 7:06PM The entire World of Warcraft game is in a lower scale comparing to the lore.
Someone at Blizzard already stated that if the game was in a real size, Orgrimar would be the size of the entire Kalimdor. Imagine how massive it would be to create everything loyal to the lore.
Feb 21st 2012 6:48PM I think the progressive nerfs are perfectly fine. The top guilds will still get their precious World First and then the rest of the guilds will be able to do their progression on their level.
And I also think it would be folly not to nerf the heroic modes as well. I Believe every guild would like to have a shot in heroic modes. But getting stuck in the same boss for over a month would be very demotional to the players, that would get bored and quit playing.
I think 4.3 already proved that accessibility is the way to go to prevent subs losses. And this accessibility most certainly also applies to heroic modes. So yeah, the progressive nerf is good to the game overall.
Feb 15th 2012 1:22PM I have noticed the same thing. Since i got pretty darn lucky in the beggining of the patch with rolls, I already got all the gear from LFR, including all 3 trinkets for my mage... However, the Need frenesi does have to stop.
This will be solved when Blizzard implements a smart kind of loot that recognizes if you have the item, equipped or in the bank, or even the normal or heroic equivalent, and then prevents you from rolling that piece.
That, and also preventing people from trading the gear.
Feb 9th 2012 10:23PM Hey, no list of "most evil achievements" is going to be complete without our beloved new RNG grind-fest profession... Archaeology! I am actually surprised nobody mentioned it yet, as it competes even with fishing! So, my list begins with...
"It Belongs in a Museum!"
Granted, getting the Professor title is not as soul-crushing as completing Accomplished Angler and becoming Salty, but it deffinitely deserves a spot on the list.
Now, for raid and dungeons...
Forget any achievement in the "Rise of the Zandalari" and "Hour of Twillight" dungeons... These may be completing even in a pug. However, Headed South is a complete different story... I did it back in 4.0 and it was just INSANE. It required coordination, DPS control, isane burst damage and insane healing... I only managed to complete it back in the day with 2 healers in the group, and popping Timewarp along with all CDs to beat the buff timer! I believe it may be hard to do even today!
Since you make the list regarding achievements that were hard in their day (just like you did with Light of Dawn, the hardest encounter in WOW as of the time of the original list), Stay Chill deserves a spot. It is easy to do now after the nerf, but was the most difficult raid achiement to do when Throne of the Four Winds was current content!
"Do a barrel roll!"
It is amazing how people fail on the Fire Tornadoes. If this was a personal achievement, it would be very easy to do, but having to rely on the competence of your group turns out to be frustating. I only managed to do this by sending all DPS up and killing Alysrazor before phase 2!
"I Can't Hear You Over The Sound Of How Awesome I Am"
This is the Immortal of Cataclysm. Deffinitely put this on.
One of, if not THE most challenging encounter in Cataclysm.
Can´t say about the Dragon Soul achievements, since I stopped raiding, but I believe "Heroic: Spine of Deathwing" will be on along with Ragnaros as the most difficult encounters. Also, I bet "Deck Defender" will bring tears to raiders in years to come.
Since there is nothing really new to PVP and the quest achievements are not really hard, I would complete the list with the older evil achievements.
Jan 17th 2012 8:40AM I agree completely.
I do think that the strategy of harder dungeons and raids Blizzard took in the beginning of Cataclysm back-fired.
And I believe the timing of the change couldn´t be worse. In my server, the finals days of WOLK were a PUGging paradise. We had pugs going on ALL DAY for everything, like achievements hunting, drake farming in Ulduar 10 and 25, Immortal runs in Naxx (some of them were actually successfull!), and guild groups were able to run ICC heroic with little problem in pugging some people. I was even able to take all the drakes from achievements just participating in PUGs, since my guild was essentially taking a break!
Then Cataclysm launched. And then, all of a sudden, even guild groups were struggling to down the bosses in BWD and BOT. And if guilds were having a hard time, what to say of PUGs.
It was plain for anyone to see. The frustation taking over most of my friends. Some of them were even unable to complete Dungeons, after 2 hours of boring, tedious wipes.
The change of philosophy was a death sentence to Wow. No wonder they are trying to return to WOLK days so badly now.
