Feb 1st 2012 9:22PM Q4theQ: There's been a lot of talk here at the Insider and on the forums about making PvP more enjoyable in Mists. A lot of it has revolved around PvE gear in PvP, and the imbalances that creates; and around resilience. Why couldn't Blizzard just add resilience to ALL gear? Green drops; crafted items; blues; epics. They could level-scale it the same way they do other stats now. And if the gear could be purchased from PvP vendors thru whatever points system is in effect, it would allow those who only like to PvP to get the same gear as raiders get. Earn enough Justice/Conquest points (or whatever is in use at the time), and you can buy the top-tier gear token. For people who enjoy both, it would provide two different ways to get your gear, and your gear would be effective in both environments. No more imbalances because someone brings Gurthalak into a BG - PvPers would have access to it (or a PvP reward version of it). No more being a PvEer dipping a toe into PvP for the first time and getting instantly pwned because you have no resilience gear yet. Just a thought. Am I way off base?
Jan 30th 2012 11:57AM I soooooo wish I had been in that 2d group of your! *sigh* I'm still somewhat of a noob. There are a LOT of instances I HAVEN'T run. I would like to learn! I read up on where I am/might be going, so I can get at least some idea of what needs to be done. And at the start of the instance, I make it clear that I'm new and trying my best to learn. 3 out of 5 times, I get no response, and have to hightail after the rest of the group. I will sometimes get nerd-raged at then kicked for not being INTIMATELY familiar w/boss mechanics and dying. Or people making really nasty comments to me. I can't help thinking, "You know, YOU were a noob @ some point too." It gets so frustrating sometimes I just want to let my subscription lapse...
And then I'll run into a group like your second one. And THAT'S why I DON'T cancel my sub. :) I know running with a noob can be a burden for experienced players. So when people like you and that rogue take some of your precious game-time to slow down, help us out, explain what is going on and what to do next, BELIEVE ME it is TREMENDOUSLY appreciated!
Jan 29th 2012 11:10PM ROFLMAO!
Jan 27th 2012 5:54PM Hand of Freedom is great in BGs too - for instance if you toss it on the FC as they're sprinting away from the opposition. Keeps them snare/slow/ice-cube etc. free and run like heck.
Jan 19th 2012 6:43AM Edit: Forgot to add the link... John Williams - "Olympic Fanfare" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbHw8DBCXQ8 :-)
Jan 19th 2012 6:35AM I think either of these two would be awesome. :) Aaron Copeland - "Fanfare for the Common Man" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jy_To6AmMY&feature=related, and John Williams - "Olympic Fanfare". Just my thoughts...
Jan 17th 2012 3:36AM Absolutely correct!!!! Thomas Paine put it best when he said, "We must all hang together or we shall surely hang separately."
Jan 16th 2012 10:21AM HAPPY BIRTHDAY Olivia! Here's a little something for you.... http://www.wowhead.com/item=42436 and http://www.wowhead.com/item=1179 :) As far as the racials go, as a Pally, Arcane torrent with it's mana boost and the interrupt are very nice. Have a great rest of your b-day!
Jan 15th 2012 4:54PM I totally agree with you. I leveled so fast without even trying, and missed out on seeing a bunch of stuff at the appropriate level, that I contemplated asking Blizz if I could roll back 3 levels (I found out here at WOW Insider the answer would have been "No" anyway). Not EVERYONE is in an all fire hurry to get to end game content. Ghostcrawler addressed this in a blue post, but his answer was that the nerf was so that people new to the game could fly thru in order to join their friends in the end game. Personally, I think that sucks for those of us who prefer to enjoy the journey, who'd rather "take the train than fly". From this point on, I plan to periodically turn off my XP so I can slow down and see just what I'm paying to see.
And the phasing in the new zones leaves them so empty that I spent a week in the Kelpthar Forest without seeing a SINGLE other player. That really sucked too. It takes MM out of the game. I love WOW, but it is disconcerting to spend so many hours all by yourself. If that's what I wanted, I'd just buy a stand-alone, non-online game.
