Feb 8th 2012 11:42AM I was in a nice raiding guild for a few months. In those months, I got to know a lot of great people both in-game and out. I spent countless hours on vent with a group of friends I had made among them, and I was even on the vent when I was out of game, doing whatever else I had to be done. It was just a cool place to be. The guild was a relatively hardcore raid guild, so when my computer had come down with a flu, I asked a few week's leave from raiding so I could get it all in working condition. Finally it started working again - but honestly? I wasn't too interested in going back to raid. I talked it over with a few officers and secured myself a non-raiding, casual spot in the guild and all was well.
Unfortunately, it wasn't for long - I took another small WoW break after that, and returned to find that I was removed from the guild for not attending raids (despite the fact I was a casual member), and all of my friends who'd joined the guild due to me being there had been kicked. We were all exalted, and had found a good spot in the guild - but just because I didn't wish to raid, and one officer frankly disliked me, he removed the lot of us. It was frustrating.
To this day, I'm still not raiding again, nor do I really play WoW as much as I did. But that was the note I left on. I don't wish to return, truth be told, and I've not spoken to many of my friends who were raiders in the guild since. It's depressing.
