Jun 9th 2009 10:28AM They should replace MP5 with spirit. It's stupid to have two different regen attributes for classes. Fix up the Paladin and Shaman regen talents to key off Spirit and you are good to go. All the classes should now roughly scale in the same way off the same stat.
As a bonus it will open up more loot options as Paladin/Shamans will now get benefit from sta/int/spi gear and it will stop loot fights breaking out when Druids/Priests etc roll on MP5 gear when there is a +spi version available.
Nov 27th 2007 11:49AM For a BM Hunter in PvE you want a fast weapon to fit in more Steady Shot, Auto Shot pairs. In PvP you want a slow weapon to maximize each shot damage. So the PvP weapons aren't so great for a raiding BM Hunter. Use Cheeky's Spreadsheet and see how the different weapon speeds effect you raiding dps.
On the subject of the armor. One of the weaknesses of the PvP gear is the lack of +int so your mana pool will be limited so you'll have to chain pot to avoid going OOM. Once again its good gear but not so great for PvE. PvP is all about burst damage, raiding is about sustained damage so stuff like mana regen and mana pool sizes come into play.
Nov 6th 2007 2:07PM Blizzard have only said that they will give two weeks notice on the start of season 3. It possible that they will land the patch and on the same day giving the 2 weeks notice then.
My money is on the patch landing next week (the 13th) and Season 3 starting on the 27th.
May 2nd 2007 1:24PM I agree it sucks to have stuff that you've worked for changed out from under you, but I agree with the purpose of the change. The Tailoring sets as it stands are overpowered. No other profession (with maybe exception of Blacksmithing which requires a huge amount of Primal Nethers) has access such nice items. Leatherworking doesn't have such nice sets which is leaving 45% of the classes out in the cold and are causing problem with the classes that can use such items scaling way beyond the other classes, causing those classes to be left out in the cold by min/maxing raids.
To be honest Blizzard are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Do they change these pieces or do they change everything t4/t5 related to balance or do they do nothing and have raids turn into a couple of tanks, a couple of pallies and a bundle of mages/warlocks/shadow priests as the other classes are left out because they can't compete in the damage meters due to the lack of equipment.
