The Great WoW Insider Stormwind Stampede {WoW}

Aug 16th 2007 1:51AM AUGH, I am still kicking myself for missing it. Please tell me you guys are going to do another one!

Breakfast topic: Saluting Azeroth's greatest hero, you {WoW}

Aug 8th 2007 1:21PM I wouldn't consider my paladin a hero in the least, but I do think she's done a fair amount of life-saving in her time (quests, raids, and otherwise).
She might be a highly-respected person (at least from Stormwind and The Scryers point of view), but other than that, I'm pretty humble. I don't want to be a hero or have people kneeling down before me and praising my name.

Camp Hyrule closes its doors {Joystiq Nintendo}

Jul 19th 2007 2:16PM No more Camp Hyrule? But where will Stumpy go?!
I signed up for CH from about 1997 to 2001, it was a lot of fun and great to talk to the NOA dudes. I remember they used to only let so many people participate, so I'd always get up REAL early to sign up. Even though I had a real crappy computer and dial-up connection at the time, I tried to compete in the trivia games and always lost due to massive lag...oh well. Believe it or not, in the early years actual conversations took place in the chatrooms! I stopped signing up in 2001 because the Gamecube/Playstation flamewars were really heating up and it's real hard to hold a conversation when the only other guy in the Mess Hall won't stop talking about how "THE PS2 IS SO DUM LOLOL".

Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a life-altering experience or a replacement for a normal summer vacation, but it sure was a fun way to waste a week and I'm sad to see it go.

Why raid the Crossroads? {WoW}

Jul 10th 2007 10:17AM I once tired to convince a guy in Stormwind general chat that raiding Crossroads and Camp T was lame and he should focus on bigger and better targets. I got flamed to kingdom come.

I once tried to explain to a guild leader that it makes our guild look really childish by raiding Crossroads (and Mulgore) and /yelling swears that the Horde can't even read. I got kicked out of the guild.

Simply put, the reason that the Alliance does anything like that is because they don't like a challenge. I've seen several all-70 Crossroad raids. If they just put their minds to it, they could raid the Undercity (at least THAT'S more respectable than Crossroads). Now, that's not to say that the Horde are all angels too. I've seen "Westfall is under attack!" "Southshore is under attack!" "Darkshire is under attack!" too, but these places don't get raided on an hourly basis quite like Crossroads.

Most popular hunter pets according to Petopia {WoW}

Jul 8th 2007 7:06PM Awww, a Webwood Lurker was my hunter's first pet. Kept him until 44 when I decided to get a raptor...now I feel bad for letting my spider go...

Meet Gweryc, the melee hunter {WoW}

Jul 6th 2007 11:39PM While I don't know how effective Mr. Gweryc would be in a party, I do salute him for being different. In a game like this where your every move is guaranteed flamebait, it's nice to see something different.

Blizzcon ticket giveaway! [Updated] {WoW}

Jun 29th 2007 4:58PM oh man oh man oh oh man....

Breakfast Topic: Do druids need a rez? {WoW}

Jun 29th 2007 8:32AM I'm going to agree with Gurrash, I think their ability to rez someone in combat greatly outweighs their inability to rez out of combat.

I don't recall a single group I've been in that has only had a druid and no other type of rezzing class, so there's nothing stopping the other classes to help out with rezzing (even if they're not the healer) and getting the party on it's feet again.

However, I wouldn't mind if tree druids got another type of rez because it's their job to heal (for lack of a better word), and there will always be some prick shaman or shadow priest who refuses to help out or the odds are against you and you're in the group with two hunters, a mage, and a warrior.

Ret pallies to be improved {WoW}

Jun 27th 2007 2:37PM Will I be happy with it? Meh, I probably wouldn't even notice...I don't think we have a single ret pally in the guild. I guess I feel bad for those out there that rolled a paladin to do 'massive damage' only to find out they DPS like a wet noodle, but I agree with poster #6: Go roll a rogue or warrior (or even feral druid) if you want to look good on the DPS meters.

There's a saying on Staghelm: You can't spell 'retarded' without 'ret'.

An open letter against a dysphemism {WoW}

Jun 26th 2007 1:29PM Being angered at the phrase 'gay' I can understand. Getting mad a the word 'rape'...that just seems a little over the edge. There's tons of ladies in my guild (heck, I'm female myself), and nobody gets mad when we say we say we got raped by a rogue in WSG or something similar. Sure, the ACT of raping, killing, etc. is most certainly not a good thing...but used in WoW, they're just words.

but hell, that's just my opinion.
