Jan 5th 2009 1:48PM bah, the guy complaining needs to suck it up and ride the bench every once in a while. His side of the story is obviously skewed in his favor, and if he were the GL he might actually have some respect for the decisions a GL, officer or any other organizing rank in a guild has to make from day to day and how they balance hat with doing what they want to do to have fun in WoW at the same time as making it fun for as many others as possible in their guild.
What it comes down to is a guild needs to have extra people to fill raids on a reliable basis. The guild officers also shouldn't be forced to fill the guild and raids with people they don't like to play with. Eventually someone gets frustrated, they emo out, and unfortunately in this case the angry person chose to make the issue very public rather than going back to this guild leadership and explaining his side of it and sort through why certain decisions were made.

Oct 21st 2008 9:32AM Even worse is that this guy went to Paris for a nice trip, won $30k, easily paid for the trip and probably now has even more trips planned. All the while a bunch of WoW players, many of which probably have never even left the country in their lives are bashing him.
Grats to the guy who won. Sure wish I could win $30k for flying to Paris to play a card game. I bet he had an awesome time doing it too!
Oct 16th 2008 9:30AM Last night, a Ret paladin caught me in the Auberdine inn as I was talking to someone in Vent... He 2-shot me before I even knew what happened... I was in T6/Sunwell Resto PvE gear.
Mar 7th 2008 9:27AM #1 thing to avoid, and this is coming from a raid guild officer who deals with it all the time. DO NOT bitch and moan to the officers about how you don't like being on standby. All it will do is make them angry. Sure, they want to rotate people in and out so everyone gets to raid, but it's a lot more work than you think to try to balance the schedules of everyone in the guild.
If you want out of standby, work with the people in your class that you would normally rotate with. Work out a schedule to figure out who can reliably raid on each of the guild's main raid nights. If you all keep track of who needs an upgrade from each boss, who has the most dkp, who has the most time in the raid each week, etc. Then as a class you rotate eachother in and out of the raids without making life hard on the officers and raid leader(s) who are busy dealing with other issues.
Mar 4th 2008 11:55AM I play a resto druid, currently working on Illidan. IMO, Resto Druids work pretty well when it comes to both MT healing and raid healing, or a combination of both. We have excellent mana regen and can stack HoTs on up to 4 tanks at once (pending latency issues), or we can spam hots on the raid. Both are effective ways to heal.
I often find myself stacking HoTs on 2 tanks for most fights, then using any extra GCDs on raid healing. Usually LB on anyone I think might take damage soon or people with low health (mages...).
When all is said and done with 2.4, with haste gear, changes to regen from Int/Spirit. I suspect I will end up just doing the same old thing and still top the meters. Hopefully I can more reliably run 4 LB stacks at once with haste gear, which is somthing I can't do right now because of my latency. If that isn't required, I will continue to stack LB on 2 or 3 tanks with some Rejuv/Swiftmend mixed in, and that will leave more time for casting LB on the raid.
