May 16th 2008 9:20AM I kept my shammy in Azeroth till he was 60. The main reason being I was leveling my mining. But the last two levels go so quickly it really wasn't that big of a deal. Did EPL and the levels flew by. However, I already have 2 70's so I really wasn't worried about cash or anything for his epic mount. For first time players, I'd say head to outlands at 58 although you may miss some pretty fun quests and lore by skipping ahead.
Feb 14th 2008 10:56AM My main is a rogue. And back in the days of the 60's BG, the shaman class was feared. WF was awesome and Shammies could own. Now I see a shammy and on an equal playing field I'm probably gonna get an easy HK.
The problems are well known:
1. Shammies need either an anti-cc or cc ability
2. Mobility of totem buffs and duration
3. How easy it is to destroy said totems.
For the people that play and love this class it's a serious issue and has gone far too long with not being addressed.
And for those of you giving Mike a hard time, screw off. It's his class and I'm glad that he's concerned about it. If I was writing for WoWInsider I'd post about it if the CM's said something as blatantly stupid as this in the rogue's forums. Class balance is about more than just your own class. It's about looking at all of them.
Now I'll wait for the idiot warlocks to respond with the regular "rogues are overpowered" comments. :P
Feb 13th 2008 11:35AM Skywall has been up and down like a yo-yo since the PTR. Arenas have been BRUTAL! Long queues and then if you do manage to get in you can't move, get kicked out and then have to re-queue. Zoning into instances have been fun. Loooooong queues and then you get the message "Instance not found". WTF?
Maybe it's not related to the PTR, but it's awfully suspicious that it started happening once the PTR was released.
Feb 12th 2008 10:17AM My main is a rogue. And I love my enh shammy in our raid groups, but anyone who thinks the shammy class doesn't need some love at this point needs to pay attention to mechanics as a whole and not just their own class.
Jan 16th 2008 8:37AM @#28 That's why you re-spec. 19/42/0 is absolutely fine for 5 mans and heroics. And it destroys every other spec in raids. When it's time for some PVP or arena, I respec.
There is no 1 spec that's good for everything for rogues.
Jan 14th 2008 4:23PM OK, way too many people are using "Drak" as a name now.
There can be only one.
Jan 10th 2008 8:24AM I play Alliance on the Reckoning battlegroup as well. For me, AV has been about 50/50. So no complaints there as it provides the most honor. But collecting tokens in the other BG's is painful as we lose 90% of the time. The Horde respond much more quickly and they seem to have more healers in most BG's.
Dec 12th 2007 10:05AM Very good article. I'm an IT guy so I always wonder how they do stuff like this. Wish I had a complete set of Tier 4 or 5 rather than a mixture. I wouldn't hesitate to get one of these.
Nov 29th 2007 7:15PM I thought this column was very well done. Especially for rogues just hitting 70 and wondering how they should socket. For those of you just starting raiding, you'll want to get that hit up as fast as posssible. It will make a big difference to your damage. However, try to balance it out. The very best way would be to upgrade hit, agi and AP all at the same time.
And hopefully no one confuses me with this other Drak. It's what all my friends on Skywall call me, but the Drak posting here is definitely not me. :) I'm a rogue through and through.
