Around Azeroth: Say you want a revolution? {WoW}

Feb 22nd 2011 11:30AM liein, I actually see the whole zone of Uldum as playing off of outdated stereotypes about the Arab world. It reminds me of the original opening to the Disney Aladdin movie. Sacred cat people! Camels! The Great White Adventurer, Harrison Jones, out for all he can exploit! Yes, yes, I know it's a parody of the Indiana Jones movies, but I had hoped that Blizzard would show some more originality in their design. Al'Akir is also one of the 99 names of God in Islamic tradition, so I consider it very weird that they used it for a boss name.

This was actually written before the recent explosion of violence in Libya, and is meant to express support for the revolutions without drawing "LOL POLITICS" responses. I too hope that Gadhafi (and Ahmadinejad, while we're at it) are thrown from power by the people that they have oppressed and receive a just reward for their actions.

Around Azeroth: Until the end of the world {WoW}

Aug 3rd 2010 9:16PM You're both right, actually -- I was thinking about both the terrifying Preacher arc and the excellent U2 song.

Nov 14th 2009 9:30PM Crescent and homer, I wasn't referring to any mental disability, but rather gnomes that have been irradiated and are turning into "leper gnomes". Thus the 'too much radiation.'

Around Azeroth: Dream big {WoW}

Jul 14th 2009 1:25PM Douglas, while I haven't gotten a ninja turtles in a while, we do occasionally get battleground scoreboards. And during the past two weeks we get several submissions of the dead-gnome-gold-seller exploits a day. Seriously.

Other things we see a lot of: aerial shots of Dalaran, players transformed into Vrykul riding tiny mounts, players with the bug where they stand on top of mounts, and various animals stuck in trees. Also, the AA spam mail box would like to give me codeine, a college degree, a GOOD BUSINESS PROPOSAL, and something called a 'porn tubes'.

Around Azeroth: Forbidden donut {WoW}

Jun 25th 2009 12:06AM Hey Keyra -- the Around Azeroth galleries are large and unwieldy, and trying to upload a pic to the main gallery from anywhere but my home computer usually fails. I was out of town for a week and the computer I was on could not handle the large gallery. The gallery should be updated as normal from tomorrow onward.

Around Azeroth: Life isn't fair {WoW}

Jun 21st 2009 10:55PM Keyra, we've had a lot of "repeat" shots and glitches submitted lately (Ninja turtles, aerial pics of Dalaran, people standing on flying mounts), which makes the real eye-catching stuff somewhat scarce.

Around Azeroth: The eyes have it {WoW}

Mar 28th 2009 2:30PM I'm pretty much die-hard Horde, and have in fact never leveled through Duskwood. I was unaware that this was well-known.

Around Azeroth: Any last requests? {WoW}

Feb 27th 2009 11:05AM Dale and Leejin, it's a firing squad -- she's cowering in front of a wall with bullet holed-targets behind her.

Around Azeroth: Passionate kisses {WoW}

Feb 12th 2009 8:40PM Really! I'm a huge Discworld fan, and that name does seem to suit Granny quite well.
