I don't really care about the loot; I started in Vanilla (just around when Dire Maul was added, so not from beta or anything) and remember taking two hours to get through half of Maraudon at-level, for seemingly no drops. That was a fun adventure, but I only had time on the weekend.
All I'm saying is that the length of 5-man content now, post-Wrath, means that on the evenings I can only really run a few daily quests. Shorter dungeons would mean I could shoulder some tanking load for randoms on evenings.
It's moot anyway, though. In another tier, maybe two, of content, we'll lolzerg it all and it'll be back down to 30 minute dungeon runs. It won't be particularly challenging, but at least I'll be able to play with others during the week :-)
Jan 11th 2011 8:59AM My biggest problem with tanking randoms is that they just take so long. In Wrath, it was easy to find a half hour here or there to tank a random. But with a full-time job that often stretches into evening work and a family, an hour to an hour and a half is weekend-only time for me.
I don't miss the zergfest, but I wish the instances were shorter. So, they should still require skill/care but not this long contiguous time commitment. There's a reason I don't raid.
Jan 3rd 2011 3:53PM The BossInfo addon is also a good recommendation. It'll tell you generally what to do for a boss you're not familiar with.
Aug 5th 2010 11:15AM If you wait for about two minutes, the rolls will be force-passed for the people who didn't bother to pass and the loot will be awarded. Just go grab a cup of coffee, ALT-tab, or go loot & skin all those dead mobs that there was "notimehurryhurryHURRY" when you were running toward the one & only mob that counts for the frosties.
May 26th 2010 11:08PM The instance name starts with "Halls." It's going to suck and be either a grind or wipefest.
May 4th 2010 5:39PM I've run into deployed players in PUG runs before, or at least people who claimed they were when they chain DC'd or had visible horrible lag (running-in-place stuff). Never mind four-manning large parts of dungeons in that situation.
These guys should create a guild called , just to give folks a heads-up. It's no skin off my back if my frosties take two minutes longer to get.

Additionally, Chef is not currently doable. In 3.0.8, three recipes are being added, a few are being removed, and it will be completable then.
Dec 6th 2008 5:46PM By heroic do you mean 25-man? Kinda confusing - just say 25 instead.
For videos, hit http://www.projectmarmot.com/ - they're awesome guides intended for the whole raid, despite being on tankspot.com :-)
Nov 28th 2008 10:19AM Other melee classes are screwed, but just keep spell reflect up - he'll dot himself and it's an easy kill from there.
