Apr 24th 2008 9:01AM this is actually a brilliant idea. i'd roll a demon in a heartbeat. the only flaw with the plan would be balance i imagine. i honestly think that people would abandon the Horde and Alliance in droves to join the Legion. sure, some would stay, and people would have Horde/Alliance mains, but i could easily see a scenerio where the Legion quickly outpaces the other factions. i would join because the status quo IS rather boring, in my opinion. and because demons look super-cool.
Apr 10th 2008 3:30AM my best WoW friend plays a female tauren. in my experience though, female dwarves are about ten times more rare. i can count the number i've seen in 3 years on one hand. whereas i probably see around 3-5 female taurens every day. they're still rare, but nohwere as rare as female dwarves.
Mar 24th 2008 11:52AM i will be hitting the BGs to see if the rollback of the diminishing returns on honor and other changes actually have a significant effect. i have been imagining it would cause the following:
-more honor per match, so that WSG, EOTS, and AB might actually come close to AV in terms of honor awarded
-make it so that turtles are actually worthwhile. that people actually WANT to fight each other, rather than simply running past each other to objectives (in AV anyhow)
-cause hardcore raiders to QQ. because any change that might make the game nicer for anyone but the hardcore raiders makes them QQ like the pathetic babies they are.
Mar 21st 2008 12:36AM you are SO RIGHT. i can't believe it took so many comments for someone to bring this up.
i am still working hard in arenas, BGs, Heroics, and some farming (for tailoring mats) to keep upping my character, but mostly because it's a fun game, and the goals i set make it more enjoyable. i know that the new expansion will make my new gear pretty worthless pretty fast, and i'm ok with that. in fact, i relish the fact that i play less than the hardcores, and we both face the exact same scenerio once we get to Northrend. equal footing again; how does it feel?
and totally as an aside, damn them yellow gem slots!
Mar 21st 2008 12:28AM how PRECISELY does making a raid easier for like, 99% of the ENTIRE PLAYER BASE (which must not be you mr. UBER-LEET) make the games less fun? if i could actually get into BT, how does that decrease YOUR enjoyment? does it decrease mine? why do hardcore raiders ALWAYS QQ their little heads off if Blizzard creates the slimmest posibility that 99% of the players who aren't having a chance to experience all the content that Blizzard seems to sink most of its time and energy in, can now have some chance?
let me put it another way:
THIUS GAME WAS NOT MADE FOR YOU AND ONLY YOU. i'm happy that you can put in 30 or something hours a week playing this game, and attain the best gear etc. but last time i checked, my $15 a month was worth exactly the same as your $15 a month. and you know what? Blizzard is a business; a corporation no less, who has a LEGAL responibility to their stockholders. if giving EVERYONE BT for literally nothing would make be the best business diecision for Blizzard to make, they would do it, because THAT'S WHAT CORPORATIONS DO. they are not here to make you feel better about yourself, or make you feel superior to others. they are here to make money off of ALLof us.
the best things that Blizzard did with the release of TBC and after was to make higher-level stuff available to more players. they can't ONLY cater to a tiny fraction of their customers who are QQ-in crybabies, and still be turning a profit. player (PAYING CUSTOMERS) would leave, and they want as many of those as possible. more players=more money. making tons and tons of content unavailable to most players=unhappy players. unhappy players=less players=less money. let me know if you can keep up with this complicated math; it doesn't have antyhing about crit rating or how attack power increases your DPS along a predetermined formula, so maybe it's hard for you to follow.
Feb 22nd 2008 1:41AM whats the deal with the holiday boss? are we gonna see worthwhile epics dropping? i am really disappointed that i missed the Horseman by like 2 weeks (wasn't 70 yet) i could really use one of his rings... any details anyone?
Nov 19th 2007 11:13PM grinding PvP honor points for new arena gear, as so many others apparently, and as im overseas, i have no fear of being summoned to a family get-together! of course, im busy as all hell, so i cant get as much time as i want, but then, who can?
gladiator's mage staff here i come...
Nov 18th 2007 7:25PM great post; i enjoy the tone and writing style more than most of these lore posts, but if i can nitpick just one thing: proofread it a little better in the future. i ran across several mistakes even before the jump.
Nov 14th 2007 10:28PM so far this has actually been a problem for me. prior to the patch, it was 15-20 minute AV matches, yielding around 400 honor, more or less. now, i've had 2 matches that ran nearly or over an hour, again yielding around 400 honor. so i'm getting 1/3rd of the honor for my time as before. (even when i ran with a well-organized pre-made).
of course, it is WAY more PvP oriented, which, while fun, is bogging the matches down in terms of how much honor i'm getting. i will likely flee to other BGs that will provide more honor for my time investment, and only do AV on days when it is the daily quest BG, and i get an additional 400 honor for it.
don't get me wrong; i like the changes, i just wish they didn't eat up so much time.
Nov 14th 2007 4:36AM the +400 honor i got for the new daily BG quest. this will cut down my honor-grinding time considerably, and just in time for the Arena 1 gear for my soon-to-be level 70 Mage (69 1/3 now)
