Dec 4th 2007 10:12AM I tried to send a tip about this, but it was deftly ignored by one of your writers, who completely misunderstood my point.
Activision Blizzard is just a trade name, it won't appear on anything and for all intents and purposes management won't change. WoW Insider has been grossly misrepresenting it be it by ignorance or willful negligence.
There have existed interviews with Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaine for a number of days now, that have been ignored by the site as it continues to propagate misinformation. I highly recommend that users just read this site for news about World of Warcraft, the editors (and given the propensity for double-posting I use the term loosely) are woefully ill-equipped to report on anything not directly related to the game.
Dec 2nd 2007 6:42PM All my toons are on the Alliance Side in the Shadowburn battle group, which is sad for me because the PvPers have achieved moron equilibrium.
They've managed to find a way to spend all BGs in pointless flamewars. The lack of movement would be seen as AFKing if they weren't furiously pounding out their manifestos about how I am "teh noobs" and everyone is doing everything wrong.
I have a macro that broadcasts "LESS YAPPY MORE CAPPY" for these situations. If it gets really bad I'll use my keyboard macro that broadcasts it every three seconds.
Here's another pack of foaming miscreants that I'd like to see strung up and boiled.
The "OMG U RUINED OUR PREMADE NOOB" people. This is common in WSG and AB, especially AB where premades often have fewer people than the cap. My main is on a normal server, but we're pretty damn good at PvP. The guys who run our premades are titled Gladiator, with a few Rivals and Challengers sprinkled in. Almost everyone is in Arena 3 gear at this point. Me, I'm a Justicar so its safe to say I know what I'm doing. So along comes another premade of fewer people. We've got two premades. Should be an easy win, right? Wrong.
The other premade is from a PvP server, they insist we are "RP Noobs" and proceed to say things like 'raid moar fagts" for the five minutes the AB match lasts. We were unable to mount any effective defense, with the other premade holding the raid hostage and demanding Raid Leader. And despite this, "u rp fags fukt up our premade"
You know that Simon game in Ogri'la? Can we implement something like that to weed out the morons before login? Or maybe something that disconnects you every time you spout bigotry.
Nov 17th 2007 5:24AM Here's the thing, Arthas as a character is much more cocksure than Illidan. Illidan is furious, angered at the very thought of being challenged, because it is a threat to him. Arthas wants to be challenged, he loves it, because he's so powerful he knows he can win.
In fact, from what I've gathered, Arthas is the main antagonist in WotLK, he's flat-out picking a fight, here. His cry would be far more grandiose, so I think we have heard it.
"So come then, you heroes, come in all your power and glory!"
It's a bit wordy, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
Oct 28th 2007 9:47AM Gorefiend wipes raids because he damages many people including the tank too much to be healed. Gruul wipes raids because he one-shots the tank after X number of growths. Given that this is a one-on-one fight, all other things being equal, Gruul wins in a walk.
Oct 18th 2007 12:29AM Yes, but then again, something as important as stopping another legion invasion as massive as the Third War, in Horde territory no less, might just get Thrall to come out and give the players a little something.
Unlikely, but possible.
Oh, and your next KYL is going to be Anduin Lothar? That'd be pretty cool, Lothar's a badass.
Oct 16th 2007 9:28PM Lots of people forget Game Informer is owned by GsmeStop. They've got a vested interest in selling as many of these hyped up games as they can, and in turn hyping up these hyped up games.
Not saying Mass Effect is good or bad one way or another, personally I hope its great, I love Bioware.
Game Informer, however, is essentially a shill rag, they'll inflate the score of anything their readers are potentially interested in, and trash the stuff they weren't looking at in the first place to appear unbiased.
Oct 16th 2007 3:22PM Truth: The thing that kept Ret Paladins from being raid-viable was not their DPS output, but their threat.
Retribution relies heavily on critical hits chained one after the other ad infinitum. It stacks up the threat extremely quickly.
Oct 15th 2007 1:29PM I found the article funny, but it is flame-bait at its core. Written with the best of intentions, with a tongue-in-cheek manner to it, I liked it.
Oct 11th 2007 1:14AM Well, I attended the show at The Kennedy Center, with the National Symphony Orchestra. The dress-code is nonexistant, but you'd likely benefit from the sort of decent street clothes that you'd wear any day you're being sociable.
Oct 7th 2007 3:38PM "Hi, I'm a WoW Insider writer! I'm an elitist prick who doesn't grasp that the vast minority of players raid! And if you haven't joined our elitist raiding party, you clearly need to kill yourself for being so gosh-darn lame! Bye! I'll be dreaming about killing your parents because clearly you aren't worth the matter you are made out of!"
While that's meant to be tongue-in-cheek, there is a good deal of truth to it. While this is an enthusiast site and obviously there will be a higher-than-average raiding audience, I would like to see some love for the casuals or even those who would like to raid, but can't because of the general elitism inherent in raiding guilds.
It's become rather impenetrable at this point, if you aren't raiding, you never will, seeing as raid guilds are full of the sort of assholes who honestly think they're better than people who haven't entered Karazhan.
