Breakfast Topic: Beyond good and evil. {WoW}

Jul 25th 2007 5:40PM The Drenai purely good?

Not so.

I belive it's in Cenarion refuge we find a broken in need of help, he also mentions the Drenai are force converting the broken to "the light" and killing any who don't.

Pure good? Zealots are never good.

...and Mages and Warlocks too! {WoW}

Jun 3rd 2007 12:02PM try using /dnd it doesn't get rid of the problem but it does help reduce it.

Funny messages such as for my shadow priest /dnd or I melt your face too. Tends to get a chuckle and me left alone.

LOL gay! {WoW}

May 30th 2007 10:46PM I'm sorry 141/steven but yes having feelings for someone of the same sex means that yes you are either gay or bisexual wether you act on it or not.

Many people don't want to try dealing with those feelings and remain "closted" from themselevs and others around them and trying to be "straight" end up hurt people around them as they lie about their feelings to other people all to make society happy with it's concept of "normal" (damn that may be to may " " but I think you might get the point).

LOL gay! {WoW}

May 30th 2007 3:35PM Can't remember who it was that asked but how gay came to be synonymous (or however it's spelt) with homosexual:

After the Stonewall riots the first organised poster campaign included a poster that read.

The silly straight people :P unable to read the poster properly just read the first letter of each word and whoop-de-do there was now a shorter word for homosexual and lesbian.

I may go find some supporting evidence on the net and link it but try googeling stonewall, gay and poster and you'll be off to a good start.

As to Elizabeth, nice article.

I do agree with you and as a gay man I do find alot of these replies just show how far there us to go in educating people about homosexuality, lesbianism etc.

As for "gay" as a derogatory term starting on the intenet, I'm not sure it was, I heard it used that way irl before I saw it in wow.

That said any person I've brought up about it has stopped, thought about it, apologised and commited to stop using it that way.

Maybe the Irish and my guildies are just nicer people that way :)

Your own private Azeroth {WoW}

May 30th 2007 2:03PM Hmmmm!

A server with no gold beggers, homophobes, gold spammers, whiners, random spam invites, and boost beggers, etc?

It sure is damn tempting.

Breakfast Topic: Your least favorite class to play {WoW}

Feb 19th 2007 12:41PM My first class and greatest love is of course the priest. So much so I have one 70 and one 62 (atm).
One's my shadow priest for farming and the others gone shadow to level then back to spirit build to heal like hell :)

Also got lock (who I must get back to), Druid (feral for now :) and a pally in the works (why couldn't it have been Undead it made so much more sense that dead pallies make undead pallies ;)

Classes I don't like
Hunter: I really don't have to play a hunter, the pet just does it all.
Warrior: It's the lack of anything to do in a fight.
Rogue: my mains a priest and I just hate having to use the tactics I so hate being used against me.

Shammies are a bit meh! and really don't seem that tough but I only got him to 20ish

Thoughts on guild halls in Azeroth {WoW}

Feb 16th 2007 9:32AM First off @23
"NPC's in the guild hall... not going to happen. Blizzard wants people to interact."

When was the last time you went to the bank, trainer or merchant to interact with other PCs?

The idea of renting npcs of specific types for a guild hall makes a good money sink which seems to make blizz happy. Not trainers for instance but vendors would be useful and not take from the rest of the game.

Also the guild hall should not be free. Pay the rent or it goes bye bye.

One thing that would also be interesting is a "Guild Quest Giver". There is a mod out there that already does this but basically the guild needs to come up with a large amount of a material eg. Runecloth so puts together a "quest" for the guildies to turn in cloth for some sort of reward.

Also loved the idea of request boards for crafter items.

anyway that's just a few points.

What's in an obscene name? {WoW}

Feb 3rd 2007 5:10PM As far as I can tell the GMs don't go looking for the names to ban they wait until someone reports them.

So it usually isn't Blizz being nasty it's other players.

Having said that, seeing someone named gypemeister I was very tempted to report, didn't saw thge same guy a few days later with something like gpyemeistre instead... good job there by the GMs.

I really think when people submit names as offensive they should have to explain why it's offensive as I've heard of a guild that advertised itself as "gay friendly" (ie. you wouldn't have to put up with the homophobic rantings of 12 year olds and other people of the same mentality) that Blizz itself forcibly disbanneded but seems to do nothing about the actual problem of homophobic ranting in just about every channel.

just my 2 cent.

Some people have all the luck... {WoW}

Jan 15th 2007 10:43AM I hate you all.

Waterford only got 2 copies of CE and I know about 50 people at least who ordered it.

Breakfast Topic: Most useless ability {WoW}

Dec 30th 2006 10:34AM I'd have to say Touch of Weakness (not to mention the other crappy priest racials).

But ToW give a bit of extra damage on a melee hit (wohoo, because I'm meleeing sooo much)

And then reduces melee damage done by that person by 20 (wohoo). 'Cause it makes so much differance to take 20 damge off the horrendous damge that the rogues are doing to me.
