Feb 26th 2010 2:01PM Your little protest would be hilarious. Considering how many dps players there are compared to healers and tanks means you would have to get a huge majority of WoW's playerbase to agree not to queue up.
Assuming you were able to to do that I can assure you that tanks and healers would *still* not have any trouble finding groups to run with.
Just accept that if you're going to play dps then the tank and healer *are* like the king and queen of homecoming. As dps you are easily replaceable or not even needed at all (a group I tanked the other night finished heroic FoS with one dps after we kicked one moron and the other one disconnected).

He's not talking about American revolutionary protesters dumping tea into the bay as a form of protest. He's talking about the current group of crazy people in the US who hold "tea party" rallies to protest things they don't understand but they are really, really angry about.
Feb 26th 2010 2:36AM Race changes and faction changes are basically cosmetic...class changes are a completely different thing. Allowing class transfers would be a disaster.
Feb 26th 2010 2:28AM I love rankwatch and have it installed but really when you're leveling up and running places like maraudon you should really shut it off. People level so fast these days that it's not unreasonble that they are chain queuing for instances and haven't visited a trainer for a level or two. At those levels it's not going to hurt anything to cast a lower ranked version of a spell that you could be eligible for.
Feb 19th 2010 7:40PM Same on Hyjal...every WG is horde stopping the six alliance siege engines coming up from sunken temple (with no escorts), horde capturing sunken temple and getting a caravan to go south and kill the towers then the rest of the game (usually 7-9 minutes) is horde camping alliance at their single gy.
Feb 19th 2010 7:33PM I don't know about your realm but on mine it's already like that...I have to scoll through pages and pages of single items to get to the full stacks I'm looking for.
Feb 19th 2010 7:25PM I would suggest rolling a tank and doing randoms for a few days. I guarantee your idea of "whiny" tanks will completely change. Stop being a douche and the tanks will stop "whining".
Feb 12th 2010 4:31AM Any time you're talking about lowbie dungeons you should remind people that the other group members are very likely either brand new to the game or brand new to the class they are playing. I've seen tanks and healers get berated and belittled in Deadmines and RFC and it's depressing. People are so used to the Northrend dungeons and being able to steamroll heroics in 15 minutes and the vanilla dungeons just don't work that way. You'll most likely need some cc and you can't just cruise through aoeing everything down.
I've recently rolled a paladin and thought I would give tanking a try. I got to level 17 and queued up as a tank for a random dungeon. I got Deadmines. I haven't run Deadmines since the first year the game was live so I don't remember that much about it. It's also my first time tanking. Ever.
By the time we got to where the big ship with the last few bosses (after about 90 minutes) we'd rotated through four dps and two healers. The dps people were a nightmare...they were impatient and if something went wrong and they died or the whole group wiped I heard, in great detail, what a horrible tank I was. I was frustrated and wasn't having any fun so I finally ended up leaving the group without finishing the instance. I won't be signing up as a tank again any time soon.
Please, people, have some patience with new tanks and healers who are learning a new role. If you have helpful suggestions then please let them be heard but if you can't find anything to say other than insults then just don't queue up in the first place.
Feb 11th 2010 7:46PM If you ride past fast enough the group won't aggro the mobs. I actually hope they don't fix it any time soon because the only time I run PoS is on my tank or my healer and the retarded dps never seem to be able to focus fire down the two caster mobs in those packs even if they are marked and if they are asked to not target any other mobs until those two are dead. So I either blow all my cooldowns on my tank to reduce the damage as much as possible or I blow all my healing cooldowns trying to keep another tank alive. I don't know what it is about those two packs of mobs that makes dpsers so stupid but it's annoying.
Feb 7th 2010 12:07AM I really miss raiding as frost and find arcane really dull but the difference in dps between the two means I can't raid how I want without gimping the group as a whole. I play several different characters but my mage has always been my "main" and I have my fingers crossed that in Cataclysm (or even hopefully before) frost will be made, if not equal to arcane, a viable alternative.
