May 8th 2007 1:18PM It’s so funny this topic came up because I recently left WOW (for a short period of time) in search of an MMO with a more mature population. I ended up at SWG, but found that even old people can be immature and obnoxious. The idea for an adult’s only server would be a great, and a hit I'm sure; but unfortunately unless Blizz requires a personality test to play WOW, an adult’s only server wouldn't weed out the annoying gamers.
May 7th 2007 2:02PM To be honest I went back to SWG, and I'm enjoying the mature community. Now I don’t think that SWG is a WOW killer, but I do think that WOW fails when it comes to its community. They need to implement some type of enhancements which will take the game away from just a gear grind and make it more of an actual online community.
Apr 27th 2007 12:09PM Lame; what happened to good stories on this site?
Apr 26th 2007 4:43PM Anyone know what servers are open for free transfers, if any, and what rules there are to switch to there.
Apr 19th 2007 1:49PM I'm pretty sure they're not intending this promotion for active players. It's more of a ploy to bring inactive players back to WoW..it seemed pretty obvious to me.
Apr 6th 2007 2:46PM I just started my guild, Army of the Light, on The Underbog server. What I did was make the 7 signers of my charter who stayed in the guild officers; these guys can invite to the guild but can’t remove; only I can remove. I then recruited 8 more to act as veterans; veterans can also invite but can’t remove. When I get 10 in a class that class will close, and I will hold an election to get a class officer. Once I get a class officer for a particular class only they can recruit for that class, and only if the numbers for that class are bellow 10 members. Once I have all 9 class leaders, the original 7 officers will become councilman, and will help me make big decisions for the guild; with impute from our 9 elected class officers. The 9 class officers have the ability to remove a councilman from power, but there has to be a 75% consensus; class members are able to remove class officers with the same consensus. When a councilman is removed the 9 class leaders must have a replacement decided on; same with the members if they remove a class leader. If any of these groups wish to remove a leader but can’t agree on a replacement, I can then pick anyone I choose to fill the slot. So when the guild is fully formed: I and the 7 councilman will be in a leadership position, but won’t be able to recruit; only the 9 class leaders will recruit, but they won’t have much power other then leading there class in raids. Well see how it works.
Apr 4th 2007 5:58PM It would be cool to see a situation similar to the Sullon Zek server of Everquest; a good, neutral, and evil faction server. The good faction could be called The Followers of the Light, and be made up of every race but Undead, Trolls and Orcs. The neutral faction could be called The Free Thinking Peoples of Azeroth, and would be made up of all races but, Undead, and Night Elves. And finally the evil faction could be called The Forsaken, and be made up of all but Night Elves, Draenei, and Dwarfs. Basically your race and class limit your option as to what faction you can be; with warlocks being almost exclusively evil (with the exception of Human warlocks) and Paladins being the same for goods (with the exception of Blood Elves), druids being limited to the good and neutral factions, shaman limited to the evil and neutral and all others being open to all factions. This would make for a more realistic world where the colors of your skin or your skills don’t always speak for your beliefs. I’m sure it would be easy to come up with some kind of scenario were the current faction structure is broken down a bit and reshaped due to a world event.
Apr 3rd 2007 2:55PM Could anyone tell me when the last US realm was opened, and if there's been any word as to future openings?
