March's Guild of the Month: Spectacular Death {WoW}

May 21st 2011 2:39PM Looks like a fun guild. Good to see in wow. Most of my guild experiences end up unpleasant. Maybe it's just me.

I wish wow would invest a little more into character creation. Most wow players all look the same, dark and faceless. I them apart by how tall and bulky they are. very two dimensional with no indication of personality.

The Queue: Hey Sacco, can you do today's The Queue edition {WoW}

May 22nd 2009 9:30PM With the change in Wintergrasp are the vendor item prices for medals and shards going to be lowered? I mainly PVP not in arena. With no dailies in WG most of these things have become unreachable unless I really really grinds for days for each char. I'm looking at 3-5 weeks now to buy one piece where i was buying a peice a week before the change.

Also why can't paladin exorcism hit a siege vehicle but a warlock can dot one up. Do all classes get gimped in some manner in PvP?

Your remember me button didn't remember me.

More information on 3.2 release date, Coliseum, new Battleground {WoW}

May 22nd 2009 9:18PM Is there a way to make commenting automatic. I don't see anything to make it so. I don't really want to be an aol member or do that tracking char thing. Just comment on articles without having to return to my email client everytime. I stopped commenting because I got tired to logging in all the time to the yahoo account.

Also, greying out comments is an eye strain causer.

And further complaints lol. The old thread interface was better looking. Otherwise it's one of my most visited sites.

Jul 10th 2008 3:07PM Mages are the most gimped unsurvivable class in the game. I can chase down every mage in the game in AV and attack him at my choosing. Blink and iceblock just delay the inevitable. Iceblock is just a temporary tomb while we wait for the mage to die. The mage can only blink forward. Rogues and Priests out rock them. A mage has to escape and run to friends.

For hunters, the improved recast pet needs to be made a spell and not a talent. All hunter shots should be able to be used while moving, as should all mage spells.

Jul 10th 2008 3:02PM For the AoC fans. Tried it. Hated it. It is just a fancier version of the gameplay of Guildwars. In other words it has none. You play the game in a maze. A uni-directional effort. And they advertise free gameplay on the box. What the fine print says is that it's only after you pay them $100. Bad Marketing, Bad Bad game.

Jul 10th 2008 2:59PM RE: AV - What is vengeance? The AV bottlenecks besides the 5 afk players scattered around in stealth mode.

Narrow Bottlenecks.
1. North Dun Bunker lip of bridge. Flare it. Slow it. Archers will assist
2. FWK - lower end of hill just outside Keep Towers. Flare it. Slow it. Archers will assist.

At the above a 1v1 battle will usually be won be the defender.

Broad Bottle necks.
1. Between IW and SHGY
2. Between IB and IBGY
It takes 5-10 defenders to make this bottleneck effective.

FWGY is not a bottleneck at all. It can easily be passed with the alt tabed gy defenders not even noticing. This is a common Horde flaw thinking they are doing something useful at FWGY when the ally have already rolled by and are at the RH.

I think the new AV is fine. Battlegroup distribution queues are the problem. I was ally and every AV was 40 horde and 20 ally. I went to a different battlegroup leveled a horde and guess what every AV was 40 ally and 20 horde. Blizzard doesn't have the queuing working correctly.

Also being on D has fewer rewards in AV. Most seasoned AV players know a few people will take and defend 3-4 honor buildings and then the rest of the crew in AV is getting HK's. My personal BG points are much higher if I just stay with the large group and forget about doing anything with a GY or a tower or a bunker. I just need the quickest AV possible and then go into another one. If you are on D you will spend more time in ghost form then the rest of the team.

Do botters really matter? {WoW}

Jun 9th 2008 6:06PM I also think the level 50 Death Knight is a horrible idea. Make them level, make them learn the game. Leveling in wow is not that hard. I blame it on kids with lack of attention spans. lol They want to play at the max level on the first day and move on to something else once they win the God Level. Where I and friends all like to go make priests and have fun leveling them. There is a lot of the game under 70 that is fun. In fact I think the game environment becomes consistently ugly once you reach outlands. Interesting but ugly.

Do botters really matter? {WoW}

Jun 9th 2008 5:58PM For people who complain about the authors here. s**u and grow a pair. You would rather just have one post a week?

Botting is plain bad. The rationalizers who want to think it is ok are just short cutters. Their 70 mages still play like level 10 mages and they impose on groups they join to make up for their lack. They don't see their shortcommings, but they get whispered about and avoided.

For things like BG bots. I would like to see an orange tag on them that lasts a week with a week long death penalty. And anyone on any faction can attack them and kill them for honor. And make their rezz ghost last 60 minutes.

Or put up stockades in the AH, and shackle their char to it everytime they login. Probably have to be out in the open, there would be too many of them.

Addon Spotlight: TomTom {WoW}

May 23rd 2008 8:36PM What is the FPS reduction when using these? I know someone turned TomTom and ligthheaded off and their lag went away.

Then I went and turned off cosmo, omen, fishing, buddy, and auctioneer and my game play also improved. I am not sure which or if all was slowing me down.

I'm convinced I kill better in BG now without these things.

Scattered Shots: Hunter problems and predictions {WoW}

May 15th 2008 8:24PM Hunters as far as I can tell are powerful in all aspects of the game except maybe the Arena.

All classes should have weaknesses that some other class is the compensation for.

The mana pool is fine. So I blew all my mana killing that 12k war, my pet died, and now that priest is meleeing me to death. Maybe that was just poor target selection. Living without 100 percent mana while fighting is part of the class play. I've died waiting for enough mana to Feign Death. Just part of the game. I don't think the article here understands hunter mana well enough. Missed some crucial points.

Hunters rule Battlegrounds.

The one thing I miss about hunters is the nerfing of the trained elite pets. That was a bozo mistake by WoW and took out a lot of fun in the class. My brokentooth no longer was better than your average bear. The pets all became bland. Put more variety back into them like the old days and let me buy another 7 stable slots. They level up fast enough for me.
