Rogers throttles World of Warcraft across Canada {Massively}

Mar 27th 2011 11:11AM @Beau Hindman

"they just don't have the lines yet."

I'm sorry, but this statement is false and reveals a naive ignorance. The infrastructure is there. There is no "bandwidth shortage" and for all intents and purposes it is "growing on trees." But these companies are not looking to satisfy their customers, they are looking to satisfy their shareholders. And so ISPs in North America continue to maximize their profit by implementing bandwidth caps and throttling policies. Meanwhile, customers in Europe and Asia have 50Mbps for the equivalent of $20USD/month.

We're being sold down the river and defending these corporations is not helping our situation.

UPDATED: Win a copy of Edge of Destiny from Massively! {Massively}

Mar 18th 2011 10:18PM I love the art and character design, it's heads and shoulders above any other MMO.

Richard Garriott discusses ongoing plans for Portalarium {Massively}

The ignorance is astounding in this post. TR didn't "pay his space costs", he financed most of that with his own money that's he's earned over the years and years of making amazing video games. And he had to work his ass off in order to get into space, it wasn't just a matter of paying a plane ticket. Educate yourself before you spout off:

Win in-game cash from Game Coins and Massively! {Massively}

Feb 7th 2011 8:30PM This "contest" is little more than a thinly veiled paid front page advertisement. Gamecoins.com seems to be little more than a gold-selling company masquerading as a....jeeze, I don't even know what the hell they are. Instead of paying cash for gold, you pay by "writing articles" or spamming links for them. WTF?

Seriously, this is a major low point for Massively. Shame on you.

Celebrate Hello Kitty's birthday in Hello Kitty Online {Massively}

Nov 3rd 2010 1:21PM You can insist you're right, but the facts say you're wrong.

"On the episode "Make Love, Not Warcraft" of South Park, Butters states that he does not play World of Warcraft but rather the fictional game Hello Kitty Island Adventure."

The Daily Grind: Are you upset with how MMOs handle women? {Massively}

Oct 27th 2010 1:14PM @fakeassname

Easy: Aion. If you ever played with the character generator in that game, you can make some truly hideous looking women. The "best of the worst" was almost always created by the Something Awful legion, Topgoon.

LotRO barters, gallops and tasks with advance patch notes {Massively}

Oct 27th 2010 12:56PM Now they just need to fix those animations and texture glitches. Hiring an artist who can make attractive (and distinctive) item/ability icons would also be cool.

LotRO's radiance to be run over by a train and other future tidbits revealed {Massively}

No, I will not let you dictate what words are taboo. Language changes, "retarded" has different shades of meaning as do many other words in English. I reject your moralistic attempt to hijack the definitions and usage of words. That website is a pathetic joke.

Teen kills disabled girl, plays DDO to "forget" {Massively}

The Daily Grind: Have MMOs prompted you to read books? {Massively}

Apr 1st 2010 1:40PM The only thing MMOs have caused me to do is to fall behind in my reading, they've never actually promoted it. I have a backlog of books a mile high thanks to years wasted in the hamster wheel.
