Addon Spotlight: Sage {WoW}

Sep 17th 2007 1:56AM Wow, uh, I usually post positive things on here, but first off: if a tank dies and you're relying on a pet to save your ass... I think unit frames should be the least of your worries.

Second, Sage looks hideous. PitBull also shows range (fades if too far) and debuffs (outline if you can dispell it). Not to mention aggro gain (health turns red) and by far the most extremely helpful for any healer:

The bars show how much you are going to heal... on the bar, right there in green. So you know if that flash heal will cut it or not. It will even tell you how much you're going to overheal (if at all).

Sage, blech.

Guildless: The saga continues {WoW}

Aug 14th 2007 8:22PM I feel like I should chime in as I have had an almost opposite experience. I had joined the game almost a year ago (whew, the time flew by) and knew not a single thing about the game joined a guild of some decent-seeming players.

I advanced quickly as Shadow. With no ideas of quests or even the AH I got to 60 in about 2.5 months. The guild was pretty casual, but I had gotten to 60 and switched to Holy. We spent November, December, and January raiding UBRS and ZG.

I was by then a co-leader and the main healer. When TBC came out I switched again to Shadow to fly to 70. I made it there before anyone else and sat there. As it became clear that Shadow was more viable than Holy I crafted my FS and SS sets and took off for greener pastures.

The next 4 months would read like a bad Spanish soap opera. In my new guild there would be fights over loot, fights over timing, dating disputes and name calling.

Fed up with our lack of progress and the amount of time I was spending to please the guild leaders, I left. The next guild was even worse. At this time I read the first installment of this "Guildless" column. It inspired me to be... guildless.

In the past month I've never had to worry about a raid time and have been able to play at my liesure. Even more impressive is my endless quest for "epix" has sped up. I've spent my time questing, griding rep, and running PUG heroics.

A /who for any of my old guildmates reveals further foibles in Kara while I'm pushing 1000 +dmg. It's awesome.

Senator Tenorio? Heals prz! {WoW}

Jul 28th 2007 6:18PM Slingin' healz? He has all Shadow gear TYVM. I saw this story yesterday and he was specced 8/0/53. It appears as if since then he has switched to Holy, but kept the same gear on...

Well, all I gotta say is that as a fellow Dwarf Shadow Priest it is nice to see someone in power know what he is doing (...by using Warlock gear and smashing +9 spell damage gems into everything).

Addon Spotlight: SharedMedia (and other addon updates) {WoW}

Jul 9th 2007 2:41PM I'm a mod-oholic with billions of them cluttering up my Interface folder (mostly Ace 2). But I dowloaded and installed Shared Media and I can't figure out how to use it... or even exactly what it does.

Help?

BlizzCon ticket giveaway! [Updated] {WoW}

Jun 25th 2007 3:24PM I have no ticket, I want a ticket. And more importantly, I want a murloc suit.

Reader UI: Chronnick {WoW}

Jun 5th 2007 12:38AM Absolutely gorgeous. I despise horrible layouts (main reason I loathe MySpace).

Mazzle used to be the best and since 2.1 I've had to hobble together my own replacement. I use a lot of the same mods as here (PitBull being the main exception).

I have to say this is the best UI I've ever seen and I'm debating switching a few things around. Bravo.

Breakfast Topic: Favorite 2.1 change {WoW}

May 24th 2007 9:07AM I DON'T enjoy how they made Mass Dispell UGLY!

It was the 2nd most gorgeous spell in the game (after tranquility) and now it looks like poop splashing in a toilet.
