Mar 30th 2009 9:03AM You couldn't be farther from the truth. We are the players who drive the game. I'd explain it to you but honestly, it'd be lost on you.
Mar 30th 2009 8:46AM What's the trope for using too many tropes?
Mar 20th 2009 3:29PM Does the Arena Realm use the same build as the Live Realm? Warlocks are still doing Terrible (with a capital T even) on live servers. The only team comp with warlocks are 3v3. Warlocks and Warriors don't currently even belong in the level 80 brackets with the other classes.
Mar 17th 2009 1:44PM Think about it, health funnel player targeted channeled healing would be awesome. I agree slatibart. Warlocks should totally be able to heal and tank.
Mar 10th 2009 3:37AM First I want to say I'm glad you put your money where your mouth is. You took a lot of flak in the last article and way to step up to the plate. I do want to say that there are a lot of tricks you may not know about with this spec.
First, buff your pet. Give him pet food just like a Hunter. Make sure he gets raid buffed with melee buffs. Make sure YOU always have a spirit buff. Even if you have to carry around a stack of spirit scrolls. The difference is noticeable.
Second save demonic empowerment for when you have demonic frenzy going, that means waiting 20 seconds after your pet has engaged the boss. Make sure you have it ready to pop during heroism too. That's a very big thing.
If Molten Core is up make sure you just keep on inc spamming. You don't need to reapply corruption or CoA. Wait for it to fade then reapply your dots. Save life tap for in between applying CoA and Corruption or during movement. This is also a big thing.
Cast Eye of Kilrogg in Gluth and after the jump in Thad to re-summon your pet at -1 sec casting speed.
Lastly, your pet just by being alive gives a pretty good buff to you so make sure you are always doing your best to keep it alive and are re-summoning it as soon as it dies. Never demonic sac, that one point should be put into mana feed to keep your pet cleaving away. If you find for whatever reason you just can't keep the Fel Guard alive switch to the imp and keep him phase shifted. It's still a better buff than sacking him.
Your glyph choices were fine btw. Ignore whoever said the Immolate glyph was bad. He's wrong. Same to the person who said don't cast corruption. That should be linked with immolate every time.
If you were truly doing better on every boss fight as affliction you play at a level of skill most don't. You could have just been at the wrong hit cap for no suppression too. Or missing a lot of crucial buffs on your Fel Guard. But thank you for looking at the other side.
Mar 5th 2009 8:58PM I think he means the addition of arena rating as a requirement to buying pvp gear. It was a terrible idea in my opinion. And don't even talk to me about skill. This game takes none, just time. That's not necessarily a bad thing. PvP is so broken in this game it's insane.
Mar 4th 2009 9:21PM I support this statement 100%. I'd go as far to say every non-dps feature you bring should be -5% dps.
Mar 4th 2009 9:17PM If you replace the word rogue with warlock you have my same situation. But think about this, if you were a druid or a pally would you have any less skill? You'd bring more to the raid and likely be bringing similar dps.
Anyone can top the charts. I just takes know how. Gearing correctly is huge. Having the right talents and glyphs are just as huge. With every class the same there is no reason for you to be a rogue anymore.
I can tell you for a fact that if 3.1 goes badly I'm gone and not looking back. I have a strong feeling dual speccs is going to kill non-hybrids that don't fly high and above the rest in dps.
Mar 4th 2009 9:00PM Rogues and Warlocks are the two least played classes at level 80 now. True story.
There is no place for us in this world of bring the hybrid not the dps. It's only going to get worse with dual specs. Without a serious advantage in dps the two classes that contributed next to nothing else are obsolete.
