We are all geeks together {WoW}

Mar 21st 2007 5:14PM You guys are using the word “geek” wrong.

GEEK originates from a derogatory term used by students to put down those who are smart, unique, hard-working, or otherwise have some form of genius that involves scholastics (including arts). This is a peer reinforcing construct often stemming from adolescent jealousy at the subconscious level.

You guys are all GAMERS, whether you have a non-gaming social life or not…whether you have a BMW or not. If you are a geek, you would have some “talent” in scholastics and/or arts (NOT including video games!). Often these talents lead one to have a future noticeable standing in the world that either leads to riches (Bill Gates) or not (Albert Einstein). Although some of you may be geeks who play WoW, most of you probably aren’t since most real geeks spend their time in a productive passion rather than constant entertainment. I mean, if you call yourself a geek for playing WoW, then the person who watches TV shows all day is a geek too! Just because you are using a computer, you can’t call yourself a geek. If you want to be a geek, you have to be good at scholastics or arts, whether through hard work or natural ability. Personally I think WoW is counterproductive to this end, but it sure is FUN!!!

5000g is just too much for an epic flying mount {WoW}

Mar 14th 2007 8:41PM It’s A WHOLE LOT easier to get 5K in BC than it was to get 1K in WoW release. You have no right to complain! You also might not have realized it, but many players had 5K+ before BC was released also.

Epic mounts are a status symbol. Many players give realm rep points to you.

It’s not a little faster… It’s A WHOLE LOT FASTER!

It increases world PVP capability, especially offensive. If you don’t have an epic mount, your blitzkrieg party ain’t gonna want you along.

“Farm” for all the gold??? It never ceases to amaze me how many players either purposely or ignorantly ignore the trade-skill aspect of the game…and then complain about farming gold as if trade skills never existed!

For the Holy Priest…try LF mage with the same interest. This is a pretty amazing farming combo. You might also want to choose “faction kills” etc. to amplify the results.

Feb 13th 2007 11:59AM Did they overprint it? It's odd that he Collectors Edition is less that original. Usually these editions are limited. Unless Blizzard has a running print on these constantly.

Feb 12th 2007 2:02PM What are you guys talking about CPU power etc for? Obviously they are talking about a "Pocket WoW" or equivalent. Some nerfed up version of the client software without the need for "intense graphics" etc.

I think it there is going to be a partnership to make such a client with Blizzard for WoW...the issue is more the interface. Until someone comes up with the "brain control" interface or something...I don't see how you can really play WoW on current cell phone controls. You can do AH and stuff like one person mentioned, but lol try some PVP battlegrounds! I can see MAYBE you can do simple grinding on your cell phone, but heck that's for the real addict. :P I cant see this as economically viable or practical to produce such a Pocket WoW. But who knew even WoW would reach 8 million players...

What in the name of Elune are you talking about??? These guys play video games in the middle of a war zone!!! Lolz!

Seriously though. If your CO knew that you would all be in the brig proly. heh I mean, I would be pissed off if you were in my team. Shouldn’t you be studying manuals or language, etc. and rehearsing tactics in your “spare time”. I mean…there is no real “spare time” anyway when you’re talking about war and survival. When there is virtually an infinite amount of ways to eliminate and subdue the enemy, as well as survive and help your mates, I don’t see how you can play video games and brag about it. I mean if you can’t take the stress, go to the shrink or transfer out of combat. It’s not for everyone. You would be endangering yourself, your friends, and “the mission” altogther.

Speaker 1: “Our freedom-fighters are in position.”
Speaker 2: “OK, we’ve identified the names of the American Pigs and we will invite them into the raid soon.”
Speaker1: “Make sure it pre-occupies their forces for a long time.”
Speaker2: “Don’t worry, there is what they call phat lootz in this instance…it’s from the evil capitalist ideals…it’s hard to explain. This should keep them here for 6 hours or more, God willing.
Speaker1: Praise be to the Lord! We have them now!
