Blood Pact: Using SimulationCraft for gear selection, page 2 {WoW}

Feb 1st 2010 12:57PM Definitely the kind of article I have been needing. Downloaded SC a few weeks ago, played with it a bit, but could never get the tailored look I needed. Many thanks!

Blood Pact: Warlock tips for Icecrown Citadel, part 1 {WoW}

Dec 22nd 2009 4:05PM To confirm - when Saurfang spawns bloodbeasts you throw Corruption on the boss prior to engaging the adds? I'm away on vacation so I can't easily hop into game, but isn't Corr on the GCD? So you have to wait ~1.5seconds to cast your first damaging spell on the blood beasts? Just doesn't seem worth it to me. You can either cast another direct damage on Saurfang if you're waiting for the adds to be targetable or just engage the adds immediately - either seem a better use of time (unless you have to run to engage the adds, wherein I'd question your positioning) and therefore dps.

Ready Check: Twin Val'kyr {WoW}

Oct 15th 2009 2:46PM ^this. We're a casual guild, meaning it's not uncommon to see the more 'serious' raiders doing 2-3x the damage of the less devout raiders. What this means is that taking the time to switch and losing seconds of DPS often meant we were cutting it close on Twin's Pact for a while since the "good" dps was out of commission for a while and the "other" dps was probably just confused.

Last week we stopped switching colours and just had all dps focus on the casting twin regardless of the essence. Since we run two 10-man groups per week in Toc, the result is that we break through the shield consistently every time with time to spare.

WoW Rookie: PUGging without the bad apples {WoW}

Oct 7th 2009 9:56AM PuGing, while not my goal, is often a good experience. Many times the run goes quicker than when trying to break in a new 80 who's just figuring out his alt's class (or scarier, role as healer/tank). I belong to a *good* guild, but not in the top 5. Often when PuGing/being PuGed I'll look at the guild tag of the person. It's a not-so-rare joy to run with 3 or 4 people of a top guild just looking to blow through the daily prior to raid times (which is my goal, too).
