Two Bosses Enter: Ragnaros vs. Ossirian {WoW}

Dec 16th 2007 4:21PM
Two Bosses enter is still going on? It's like the series that never ends....By the time you're finished, WotLK will come out with a whole new set.

In other news: kids vote based on the scary picture of Rag at the top of the thread. They don't think a bird-headed guy could possibly win. That's the main reason this whole Boss-vs-Boss debate fails.

You don't have to tolerate racism in WoW {WoW}

The search term you're looking for, is "suprachiasmatic nucleus". Human sexual preference is genetic, case closed - for purposes of science anyway. Since there are plenty of people who think the universe is 6,004 years old & babies come from storks, I'm sure there are plenty of people who won't about science no matter what the evidence.

This is so well accepted that the nutcases over at Focus on the Family have even acknowledged it, and believe that "since it's genetic, it can be cured".

Even before they acknowledged this, the religious whackos in America were saying that one could be homosexual all they want, as long as they don't act on those impulses. In essence, they need to be celibate or they're going to hell. Of course, they also say that heterosexual sex outside of marriage is a sin, but you don't see them condemning the 999,997 out of 1mil Americans who have had sexual intercourse outside of marriage.

I often like to compare it to the crusade against smoking. People who don't smoke think that smoking is gross. They don't care about their health or else they'd be protesting McDonald's every day instead of eating it. They certainly don't care about MY health. What they care about is that cigarettes smell bad.

Two guys buttfucking each other is -gross- to most heterosexuals. That's really the only reason they have a problem with it. All these other arguments are just window-dressing, including religious opposition. These children on WoW (and everywhere else on the Internet) who are incredibly homohostile against gay men don't have any problem with gay women do they? Of course not. People just need to stop lying and say they think it's gross, and that's why they don't like it.

I think Brussels sprouts are gross. So I don't eat them. But I wouldn't waste my time & intellect on bashing someone else for eating them, nor would I attempt to disparage someone who may or may not be a Brussels sprouts-eater by CALLING him a Brussels sprouts-eater. It just seems silly to do so.

Likewise, it is silly to use "fag" as a derogatory term to disparage someone who may or may not be homosexual. It's just a waste of time & intellect.

We need to be a smarter species than that.

Chess requires FAR more creativity than WoW.

Arcane Brilliance: Should I roll a mage? {WoW}

Amanda, why is the column about Mages always so basic in its topic? I appreciate that you want to (like in this week's article) introduce non-mages to the class, and (as in most of your other columns) give n00bs a proper treatment... But when this column started, I was expecting high-end theory-crafting: discussions of threat management/ builds/ spell rotation/ itemization, etc.

In short,

WHERE'S THE BEEF?

Have you had your moment yet? {WoW}

Weird. I didn't click twice; my double post comes from the fact that you have to type in your ridiculous randomly-generated, un-changable (to my knowledge) password each time, even if you've clicked "Remember Me".

So I suppose I didn't put it in correctly and I got the confirmation email...went and clicked the verify link, then returned to see my comment. Of course the verify link works about 1/3rd of the time, so when I didn't see my comment, I carefully re-entered my password and tried again with the same comment.

This time it worked, and I saw BOTH comments immediately...

How annoying.

I'd use a bot script for most things.

Voting requirements for the AFK debuff {WoW}

Sep 6th 2007 5:19PM Why not use Sentinel to determine if someone is *actually* legitimately AFK, then just apply the buff? Having other players do your work for you always ends messy because players aren't arbitrary: they either act in their own interest or in the interest of immature spite.
