Ol' Grumpy and the crushing disappointment of roles {WoW}

Feb 16th 2012 1:16PM i think the reason Ghostcrawler said that there would most likely never be pure classes getting different roles other than DPS is because of the fact that players would quit the game in droves if Blizz took one of their trees away and made it something completely different. There is, however, a fix to this.

The fix is to add a 4th tree to all pure dps classes. They are adding, or should I say, splitting out, a 4th tree for druids because it just makes sense to do so. So why not add a 4th tree to the pure dps classes. Let them tank, melee, or heal in this 4th tree if they want to, but still keep everything else.

I think it would be cool to see a battlemage that tanks. It would also be equally cool to see a dark healer warlock draining foes life and siphoning it off to heal allies. It would be cool to have a demon hunter that isn't ranged at all but is a melee only class instead.
Let rogues have a ranged spec that makes throwing weapons and bombs and traps.

Shifting Perspectives: DOT changes, page 2 {WoW}

May 21st 2011 4:13PM honestly, i think you nailed the issue on the head, theres nothing in lunar that does the same high dps with similasr functionality that sunfire does. they simply need to add in something for lunar rotation that makes gives us a reason to stay in lunar just like sunfire does in solar...i love the fireflies idea...

now having said that, to addess the power difference between eclipse state and non-eclipse state, why not just simply remove the non-eclipse state? they could balance the damage out, reduce the mastery bonus to compensate, and you'd always be in one eclipse or the other, lunar or solar and never be out of eclipse...

id also like to see them add a glyph or talent that lets you cast moonfire/sunfire once to get three stacks, just like ferals get with fairie fire, and i'd also like to see force of nature get a change so that they spawn different things depending on which eclipse youre in, maybe during solar they could sprout green leaves and that would be like they are now doing melee damage, and during lunar they could spout glowing white leaves that do ranged spell casting...

but seriously, blizzard isnt fooling anyone, they're not really fixing anything, they're just on their roll like they have been since cata came out of performing small 2% nerfs to boomies every otehr month and screwing our playstyle to the point where we are actually underpowered compared to other classes and we've probly taken a 10% or more nerf since cata came out to current point in time...

im not happy...but i'll keep playing moonkin cuz i love it, even though i don't love what blizz is doing to us lately...

and what the hell ever happened to us getting some updated forms and color combos like feral got?

dont even get me started on losing tree form for resto...

sigh...

Shifting Perspectives: Balance druids in patch 4.2, page 2 {WoW}

May 6th 2011 2:00PM i think blizzard has gone too far this time. they've been slowly "correcting" issues they have with the balance druid since cata came out but havent really given us anything in return after 6-7 slight dps nerfs, theyve added up now over time and we've lost what i would call a significant amount of dps and not really made anything better for us, and all the while theyre giving hue buffs to warriors, hunters, mages, death knights etc and none of those classes really needed them and are now more overpowered than they already were...

it is high time blizzard really fixed things for boomkins...pve and pvp alike to make us highly competitive, not just average or less...

Blood Sport: Arena should be more like rated battlegrounds {WoW}

Apr 6th 2011 12:52PM I think the biggest issue (from what I personally believe and from what I'm hearing from others) is that R-BGs are 1) hard to get a group together, 2) hard to get everyone in group geared, 3) hard to get everyone on the same skill level, 4) hard to get matched and hence rated fairly, 5) hard to fit time in when raiding and heroic dungeons take up most people's time on a daily/weekly basis, and 6) hard to bother with because it's so easy to just do some arena 2v2 and 3v3 to get your cap...

Things I like about R-BGs...1) it's something else to do in the game if you want to do it, 2) they're sort of like big arenas based on the BG format, 3) it's something else that a guild can do together besides raid...

Things I don't like about R-BGs...1) no one bothers with them much for all the issues that we've shown to be quite obvious, 2) they're less bang for the buck compared to how much easier and quicker arenas are for the same rewards, 3) broken matchmaking system and lack of incentives for the time and trouble, 4) it will never compete well for most guild's time and effort when raiding is the 99% focus for most people...

Things I'd like to see change for both R-BGs and Arenas...Have more ways that pvp'ers can choose from no matter if they're doing R-BGs or Arenas, one called "Freeform", one called "Formatted"...

***Freeform would be letting the ppl do regular BGs just like they are now and they'd get a rating and they'd be paired only with other teams chosen randomly of players and you wouldn't be able to game the system by loading it up with a premade team or with an all guild or guild majority group. Regular unrated BGs would no longer exist and this format would give ppl the same opportunity to earn pvp points just like they do in arenas and would help those just starting out or trying to learn to play pvp better.

***Formatted would be BG groups made up of a "format" just like in raids, 1-2 tanks, 2-3 healers, and 5-7 dps. There would be two types of Formatted R-BGs, Guild and Non-Guild. Guild groups would have to be made up of only Guild members, and Non-Guild groups would be made up of players from more than one guild with no guild majority.

The reason I think this would work well is that all things in the game are balanced to two standards, one is for PVE Raiding and PVE uses a format of classes, tanks, dps and healers, and the other is for PVP due to overpowering issues between classes. If they forced pvp R-BGs to use a format to get rated, it would have a simlar feel to Raiding and I think more people would find it more appealing overall. I think they should also add this to the Arena system as well. IE, in 3v3 you should have to have one tank one dps and one healer, and in 5v5 you should have one tank, 3 dps and one healer. 2v2 would be exempt from this but would be required to have two of the types and you couldn't double up, in other words, you couldn't have two tanks, two healers, or two dps.

I really really enjoy pvp but have been keeping it to Tol Barad and Arenas due to time constraints from Raiding, but I'd definitely like to see things get better and change to make it more appealing...
