Shifting Perspectives: DoTs, a different direction, Page 2 {WoW}

Apr 2nd 2010 6:09PM Just some ideas of ways to improve spells...

1) Add a damage burst at the end of our DoTs. Remember how Moonfire unglyphed had a nice big damage/crit at the beginning? Well everyone glyphs it out so no more burst at the beginning, but what about putting the burst at the end? This burst could be triggered by a new spell like what people were talking about a Swiftmend clone or some sort (pve and pvp uses), or when the druid dies (more of a pvp use to punish those that kill us), or if it is dispelled or interrupted or stolen etc (more pvp uses).

2) A new nuke spell with a decent cooldown that could be used once or twice a minute. Could have a new "spell" simply called Eclipse. This spell could get charges up to 5, getting a charge for each wrath or starfire you cast while the Eclipse "buff" is up. Then those charges could be stored in definitely until you want to use them. The spell would be instant cast and do 60% the damage of the average crit of wrath. Then for each charge you use, a 15 sec DoT or debuff could be applied stacking up to 5 times that buffs your Insect Swarm and Moonfire by 20% and refreshing them.

3) A new buff aura of some kind that increases all damage by 100% for 4 seconds and makes the druid unable to be interrupted or movement impaired at all for that same 4 secs. Also during this time any damage done to the moonkin would reflect back on the attacker 50% of the attacker's damage done at the end of the 4 secs, or maybe knock back the attacker by 15 yards. Give this a one minute cooldown. This could be fun by giving Moonkins some controllable burst damage and actually be able to get it out since the buff is so short by making them unstoppable and letting them cast. It also would be usable in either pve or pvp as a burst/survival option to use against rogues or melee classes

4) Since the "moon" based druids are going to meet up with "sun" druids in Cataclysm, they should add a holy and or fire spell of some kind for moonkins. Call it Solar Flare or Sunspots or something. Make it able to penetrate that stupid pally bubble :) but make it burst damage of some kind.

Breakfast Topic: Stop and smell the flowers before they're gone! {WoW}

Mar 25th 2010 5:00PM I have always played WoW since about a month before release in the open beta, but I have also taken 2-3 month breaks from the game each year as well, but I've never had a lengthy hiatus from the game. This however might change this coming August.

I am trying to get into the SMU Guildhall vidoegame design program. If I get accepted, I will literally have no time for WoW for 18 months or more. It's a graduate program only (no undergrad at all) so it's serious business. If I get to play WoW at all, it might be like one night a week for 2 hours or something. At least I might be able to solo quest through Cataclysm at a minimum, but it will be hard to not play when all my close friends are raiding the new content, sigh, but it will be worth it to have a new career and possibly a shot at working directly for Blizzard. Who knows, I could on onto the WoW production team, or maybe Diablo 3, or maybe the unnanounced MMO. Anything would be a dream job.

Professor Putricide: Video and explanation {WoW}

Jan 7th 2010 7:02PM Nice video, thanks for sharing it...

I'd be able to appreciate it even more if there was a video of 10 man geared people doing this, it's quite misleading to the difficulty of the fight for 10 man raiding guilds if the people in the video are doing the 10 man raid in 25 man gear...

Otherwise, grats to the kill and thanks for the help with the strat...

Jan 2nd 2010 3:35PM the thing i am unhappy with in regards to the ashen verdict recipes is that there isn't one g-dd-mn jewelcrafting recipe at all, they practically give the rings away for free just for having the ashen verdict rep, and i think that's not cool at all...

jewelcrafters need some recipe love badly, like rings, crowns, necklaces, etc...
