The long wait for a Green Proto-drake {WoW}

Jun 19th 2009 5:02PM I seem to be very lucky with certain things, unlucky with others. I got the wolvar costume first try, then switched to oracles and got all the good stuff out of that within a couple months. I got the Reigns of the Grand Black War Mammoth out of Archavon in a pug last night with a 99 roll. BUT, I've never seen the Skadi mount, the polar bear, or the Maly mount drop, and I keep losing the Sarth+3 mount. I've got the Northrend fishing pet but still trying for the Outlands fishing pet, and only after 1000 fish caught in Ogrimmar led to Old Crafty.

Christie Golden signing Saturday in Long Island {WoW}

Jun 14th 2009 7:07PM The author, not being not a Long Islander, is uninformed of a subtlety of living here. We say that we live ON Long Island, not IN Long Island. This derives from Long Island not being a town, ie, one would say "I live in Austin, Texas," whereas LI is a geographical region, just as one would say I live ON a lake or ON a beach, or on an island. So really, the headline should read, "Christie Golden signing Saturday ON Long Island." Consider yourself informed.

WoW Rookie: Will my computer run WoW? {WoW}

Jan 28th 2009 6:48PM I don't mean to hate, but I don't find this post very informative. If I wanted to know what the minimum settings that Blizzard suggests to play the game I would read the box, or look it up on a retailer's website.

You do mention that there's a difference between simply running the game, and running it well. Can someone run WOW with this hardware and have 30+ fps with all settings turned up? I very much doubt it. Does Wowinsider have an opinion on what the hardware requirements should be to PROPERLY run the game?

To see where I'm coming from, I have 2 GB of ram, a 2.4 dual core processor, and a GeForce 7600. This hardware destroys the minimum requirements but I am actually looking to upgrade. My UI is heavily modified and right now it takes 2 min to just load the game with WOTLK and enabling any Dynamic Shadows gives me 1 fps, but other times i have more like 20 fps if I remember correctly.
