Sep 27th 2010 4:25PM I liked the Britsh accent better, that Victoria London sound was cool. Oh well :)
Nov 23rd 2009 9:26AM Uber adorable!!
Sep 2nd 2009 2:49PM Fine, have as many kids as you want. They all seem well adjusted and happy. Great! But I have to ask, what kind of toll is that doing to her body? What is her OB/GYN saying about this? For the sake of Michelle, is her husband even thinking about her health?
As far as getting money from the government... well, they do get to list all these kids as dependants. Tax credit!! So, we are helping pay for them.
Jul 17th 2009 3:04PM Apparently, I must restate a few things for those who didn't understand my point...
Sure, it's just a video...we get that.
It's a video game ... understandable. We all play. It's not real.
It's not directed toward those who have been raped... we get that too...that's totally understandable.
My point is when the statement gets used more and more as humor or just a term to tossed around, like "let's go rape that boss" then the phrase gets used flippant like a joke. Eventually, when the act happens in real life people may start thinking the act is no big deal, like beating up a boss. And the act becomes common.
I don't care that people got raped everyday... times are different now. We shouldn't get used to that. We should have to stand by that happening to anyone.
I'm not going to laugh at the term rape until it not funny anymore -- these are comments we are talking about. How it is being tossed about as something funny.
Then when it does happen to someone... people forget it is an awful, vile, and personally humiliating experience that no matter how much you have "gotten over it" or "moved on" from the act. Part of you still remembers the sting, the fear of being touched, the feeling that it was your fault, the time where you couldn't sleep in a bed.
And then the victims, well, we get told to "lighten up" or we are "selfish" because we are sensitive or we are told "it was just a joke" in vent chat because it's not real or "to get off our high horses" because we worry that the impact of what rape really is is not taken seriously or "it's just a phrase" like "Don't worry, be happy."
Yes, I have been raped. It happened a long time ago. I have come to terms with the situation and have "moved on" but it does still sting when some makes a joke about it. When some guildmember laughes about raping Loken. I know they are not talking about me. They don't know that my good friend hurt me in a way no one else could. They don't know that he laughed about it to his friends because he didn't think it was a big deal. They also don't know that his friends kick the shit out of him when they heard.
I know this video has nothing to do with it.
I've said that several times... what we are having a dialogue about it how the term somehow has lost the definition of what the act implies.
Personally, if the worgen said, "Hey boys! You were saying...." Now, that would have been funny. Because it could have played more on the wolf in sheep's clothing bit.
Jul 16th 2009 10:53PM Do you know why people are upset by it, because it is a hard thing to deal with. It's hard to get past feeling like you are "selfish" for being upset over it, like it was your fault in the first place. I guess maybe if I "lighten up" about it, then maybe I can "get a sense of humor" about "rape." I mean, "in the context of the situation", it was just sex right. It was nothing, it happens. That's why it's hard for some people to get past the term. Sure, it's just a video...we get that. It's not directed toward those who have been raped, understandable. But when the situation gets used more and more as humor or just a term to tossed around, then the act becomes common. And then the victums, well, we get told to "lighten up."
Jul 16th 2009 2:12PM Right, it was just a joke....
Oh, because it was a werewolf, I'm supposed to think that's funny because getting raped by an animal is hilarious.
Oh, I really should be focusing on the rapist -- well that makes everything better especially when someone tries to throw it back in victim's faces like it something that is funny when it happens to people.
Oh, I'm being 'politically correct' by being offended...well, as a victim of rape I don't find ANY HUMOR in this at all!
It's "jokes" like this that makes people think that rape is not a malicious and violent act on a female or male. Where in what instance is rape funny? Ever?
Nov 25th 2008 3:42PM Brilliant!
I would do Zaboo for a T1 line... no wait...
