Jul 22nd 2008 6:37PM i agree with yicheng..
the pve improvements look pretty nice but i'm a bit concerned that the number one problem in arenas and pvp for pallies is their susceptibility to cc.. some of the faster heal combos and making holy shock a more viable heal (heck, i already use it every time the cooldown is up pretty much) may help avoid things like getting chain bashed/pummel/counterspell/kick but it doesn't really give you that much more flexibility... you still have to stand still and cast at some point.. all i see is that with the sacrifice changes now we'll be more vulnerable to poly as well. this does nothing to address the many situations where you already popped trinket and/or DS to heal unhindered through a burst and then have to spend the rest of the fight hoping you can sneak a heal in while pole-humping and hoping that the other guys will get into a bad position where you have LOS for a few seconds to your friendlies while not being wide open for more spell locks/silence/counterspells etc.. against good players that is very rare..
or the fights where it's you catch fear/cyclone/fear which is plenty of time for a decent team to nuke the heck out of your buddy..
Oct 3rd 2007 2:59PM yah i agree with lykaon, devo is useless for pvp since you're using concentration anyway. and holy guidance and holy power are hardly "filler." getting 15% resist on something you can cleanse off anyway doesn't seem worth losing a bunch of healing/dmg on the top end, which procs every time you cast! not to mention if you're maxing illumination you'll want to max crit to take advantage of that.
look at the top ranked 5v5 teams and check out their pally specs, it's all 41/20 but you'll see most of the variation is in between choosing rightous fury over sheild specialization, how many points into blessed life, or imp HoJ, wisdom etc. the 'pure survival' idea presented here is interesting but i'm not really convinced of it's effictiveness.
