Nov 21st 2007 1:37PM Oh yes. Without a doubt.
In my first few maiden fights I continually tested how close I could get to the center in order to rez bodies in the event that we later encountered respawns without downing her.
It was very informative and handy because we were able to use it as intended.
A few times she aggroed onto me, maybe twice, but after that I knew what I was capable of.

they could could just trip over them. hahaha that would be AWESOME.
Nov 5th 2007 7:06PM Whining?
Do we shamans whine?
YES. I have to say that I've been frustrated with my class many of times, but I always seem to work around it and continue having fun. However, it wasn't until I started going to the Shaman forums that I began to feel cheated, robbed, and neglected by Blizz. It completely changed my view. Instead of attacking that Alliance guy just because he's flagged, or running to the BG's every waking moment, I found myself refraining from different activities just because of the attitude that I unknowingly absorbed from a majority of posts in the Shaman forums.
I mean, I agree with a lot of things that are said there having leveled a shaman, but I can't deny that it really did effect my attitude towards the game. My account expired the beginning of October and I haven't felt much desire to return because every now and then I pop in to WoWInsider, follow a link to the Shaman forums, and I get disgusted all over again.
There are people that play the class and they are able to make very very educated, rational, and calm threads about things that are very broken in the class. But for every one of those individuals, you will find 10 people that are screaming bloody murder. At times, rightfully so, I've been right along with them looking for answer but I've realized that at the end of the day, the only thing that I had accomplished was; ruining the gameplay for myself.
I can't speak for the class on that fact. But I honestly and truthfully know that the whining, kicking, and screaming that I allowed myself to partake in... had RUINED the game for me and likely others.
Sooo with all my free time, I grabbed a girlfriend, a gym membership, and my thirst for tne next big game to be released.
How's Hellgate London... anyone?
Nov 5th 2007 12:42PM Oh wow, give me diminishing returns on frost shock over this change to earth shock ANY day.
Talk about an unjustified nerf.
My earth shocking plus grounding totem has been my only chance and the main reason why I was able to take down most pallies as long as my timing was right. I'd use it over a stupid frost shock with or without diminishing returns.
I'm open to talk rationally about it as the others above have said, but it's such a low blow that I don't even know if Blizz cares.
Wow and Ouch
70 Resto Shaman.
Oct 26th 2007 2:25PM People really feel Healing streem is useless?
I like it. +114 health every two seconds.
Go 0/7/54 - and stack Stoneskin on top of it. The 56 damage blocked in addition to healing stream makes it awesome to me.
Admittedly, it's pretty weak unless you're resto. I thought it was getting a small buff?
Oct 26th 2007 2:10PM stoneclaw would be an excellent candidate for that totem you want. It already has aggro capabilities, casting it could wipe your aggro... of course limiting that effect to once every few minutes or putting that totem on a cooldown.
Resto doesn't really need it, at least not in my case because atm my Searing totem steals agg from me, I couldn't imagine a stronger stoneclaw.
I guess you could call it improved stoneclaw or something and allow elemental and enhancement to spec for it the way Resto spec's for mana tide.
Oct 26th 2007 1:49PM I've got another...
move sentry totem abilities to the stoneclaw totem.
Oct 26th 2007 1:37PM What about making use of the existing stone claw totem? Like, Give it have a 50/50 chance of freezing anything in it's range between pulses.
Increase the aggro on it for all trees and give enhancement specc'd player the chance to add a point into it dumping aggro every so often.
Oct 3rd 2007 2:25PM In your defense, if this build satisfies your style of play then I'm all for it.
The best shamen are played by creative people who often enjoy personalizing their character.
Personally, I'm not fond of the build at all but that's because I'm a very...very... defensive player. There are many who argue against my build as well, but for raiding it still serves it's purpose.
Currently it's off, I have 3 points in focused mind and one in Nature's guidance that shouldn't be there. Instead, at least 2 of those should be in Guardian totems and 1 in Totemic Mastery.
0/7/54 - was my most satisfying build that complimented my style of play.
In a 5 man group I would have stoneskin totem, wrath of air, and healing stream dropped at the least.
The comment that healing stream isn't any good, I'd definitely have to call you on that one. Main healing, my mana streams heals for +114 every 2 seconds. My Stoneskin blocks melee damage by over 50. In theory, if the tanks getting hit for 500 per swing, then he'll be taking a little over 1/3 less damage. Add in 1second spams of rank 1 healing wave giving %25 armor increase, the damage they take drops significantly more. Finally, throw an earth shield on the tank and needless to say, healing is not even a problem. If you want to bore yourself, throw a shadow priest in the group with vampiric embrace.
That's just defensively.... for me.
It allowed me to wear epic elemental shaman gear and still main heal so that when I needed to switch to dealing damage, my +heal may drop to only 1200... but my dps would be well over 600 with upwards of 20% crit chance, my crit heals could easily replace the +heal that I lost AND keep the tank with a permanent 25% increase of armor.
That's just me though. People didn't necessarily like my theory, but it made me a helluva player because it fit my style and helped keep me content with all of the other things I considered broken about the class.
I didn't see being a hybrid as the answer. Instead, a combination of gear and totem usage helped me keep groups alive and progressing.
Sidenote: that's why I've taken the threat reduction talent for my heals, so that I could wear the elemental gear which only meant that I had to heal more. Of course, it's all a matter of discretion. 'when' and 'where' were always the factor of 'what' my actions would be.
